Aircraft Carrier Survival: Tutorial

Unfortunately all the fun bits of managing a fleet have been taken out of this. You send aircraft on missions. Tactics are based on cards (dumb and childish), and you click, click, click. There's so much micromanagement that might be fun if they're were any form of action bits in it. Instead you're miles from the action. Very dull.

I was so incredibly excited for this. I thought it was going to be a management sim a la Fallout Shelter. There are barely any games out there that actually focus on WWII carrier operations, and visually, this game looks fantastic. But the moment you start playing, the entire illusion shatters. Instead of simulating the actual, fascinating logistics of a carrier—like turning the ship into the wind to launch planes, managing distinct bomb loads for land vs. sea targets, or risking high-stakes, pre-dawn launches—the game pads its length with mindless micromanagement. Why am I walking an avatar around the ship just to turn tasks on and off despite sailors all standing around in the actual compartments? It’s completely unnecessary busywork. The actual gameplay loop is incredibly tedious: click the island, change the weather office, drop a mission icon, switch the deck to launch, fast-forward time, switch the deck to recover, click the icon, and recover. You have to do this exact, mind-numbing routine three separate times for every single attack (Recon, ID, and Strike), capped off by a weird little card-matching minigame to actually hit the target. I wasn't even able to complete the tutorial! Just too slow and horrible! Ended up dying or losing planes and no warning. This game still needs lots of work but i do 100% love the concept of the game it's brilliant if poorly executed. I'll keep waiting to see if they ever fix the BS annoying issues with the game. Till then this stays in my library as a free tutorial!

Отдельно стоит отметить удобный интерфейс, который помогает быстро ориентироваться во множестве параметров и принимать своевременные решения. Тем не менее, стоит учитывать, что это всего лишь туториал. Он не раскрывает всех нюансов игры и не дает возможности испытать все опасности и возможности, которые ждут в основной кампании.
