About Space Chess
Multiplayer 3D chess! While other 3D chess games simply feature 3D graphics, this one actually implements 3D rules. It is, to the best of the author's knowledge, the only 3D-rules chess game that can be played over the network. Rules are Capture-the-King Raumschach. The original Raumschach (German for "Space Chess") rules were written in 1907, and the game is noted for its playability, setting it apart from gimmicky 3D versions of chess. This game features publicly discoverable lobbies as well as private lobbies that allow you to play your friends using a lobby code. Spread out cells allow for a truly cube-shaped board. Glowing move visualizations allow you to see where both you and your opponent's pieces can move maximizing playability in the face of somewhat complex piece movement. Put your brain to the test!Public lobbies may be sparse until the game picks up momentum. Find a match on Facebook!

✦ AI summary
Players praise this 3D chess game for making a complex concept surprisingly accessible through helpful features like board rotation and move visualization, which keep it intuitive despite the added spatial complexity. The strategy depth is significantly richer than traditional 2D chess, offering a more engaging experience for chess enthusiasts. The game is well-made and enjoyable for anyone interested in chess looking for a fresh challenge.
I was afraid 3D chess might be very confusing, but the strategy employed is comparable to 2D chess. The square highlighting and ability to rotate the board make it reasonable and enjoyable. It's a great game! I highly recommend trying it out!1 found this helpful
The board game of Raumschach as originally invented must have been impossibly difficult to play. This game with its modern 3-D graphics, ability to rotate the board in every direction and visualization of your and your opponents available moves make this a very playable and enjoyable game. The strategy however, is on a completely different level. I just went back and played a 2D game on another site to compare and 2D almost felt boring by comparison. Truly a fascinating game!
Evading capture, strategically advancing on horseback, sacrificing pawns, evading the condescending vision of bishops across the material, spiritual, and emotional 3D planes, finding myself somewhere effervescently floating between this reality and the next, and in perpetual pursuit of a queen, makes me realize this game is not too dissimilar from my own life, but fortunately, I find myself marginally more successful here and would recommend to anyone without hesitation
Definitely check it out if you like chess. 3D chess on stacked boards in real life would be impossible, but on here it's easy to pick up and play! Well made and a lot of fun.
