The tutorial being on Youtube is 100% whack and the game feels uninviting at the beginning. Easy difficulty is hard AF and takes multiple attempts. For the motivated, this game is INCREDIBLE! Surprisingly well balanced. This is the first game I've played on Steam that really FEELS like a board game. 8.5/10 If only Mage Food Truck was multiplayer too!

The game is unfortunately not good enough to have longevity. The premise and all of the gameplay elements sound fun and I wanted to like it, even the coop aspect was very alluring. But in the end we aborted our run as a group, I played a run solo and finished on hard, and I probably won't play another one. The game suffers from many issues, but here's the key ones: 1. coop seems like an afterthought and is more of a hindrance than adding value. you're supposed to split the 4 characters between the players you have and alternate, but the game is only intended around using all 4 together to solve a puzzle. it doesn't really make sense to split them between different people. even the online play UI to spectate while it's other people's turns misses half the details (e.g. can't see what cards they have or play). there's also no controller support, so remote play together is limited to sharing mouse and the entire screen and alternating manually. I'd recommend to play this game solo if at all. 2. the game can't really explain its concepts well. there's no tutorial, no in game explanations. you're thrown into a full game and are supposed to watch some youtube tutorial videos explaining …

charming and addicting. I wish I could beat the highest difficulty but it has broken my soul.

This is an AWESOME card game. It took me a few tries to understand what was happening, and then about 10 hours to optimize my moves. After that, it was a 4 hour journey to beat the actual game (multiple re runs needed) Its well designed and everything has a synchronistic justification, even the "bad events" have their on cannabilistic synergy that will END YOU if you don't address shortfalls in your card pulls. I know this is marketed multiplayer, but SINGLEPLAYER is viable, and to me , preffered. Once you understand the role and optimized paths of each character, it becomes an over arching strategy-puzzle-card game that is very satisfying. I can't imagine trying to translate the nessecary cross strategy needed to win with 4 different people. As 1 person, you can predict and formulate long term goals, but as 1/4th of a team, good luck lol. amazing, loved this game

The main problem this game has is that, with correct play and a bit of early game luck, you will win. As in, there is nothing the game can throw at you anymore that would really pose a threat, no challenge that won't be solved in a turn or two. And yet you still have to go through the motions and actually get the ingredients into the stew, get the ship into the correct system, fix the shields, doors, and draw pilons, and be extremely bored because you already scienced everything available. There are better deckbuilders out there, but this one, despite its flaws, does have interesting things to offer. ...though I didn't know there was a sequel until now, so maybe check that out instead? Ought to be better.
