Space Mega Force Man

"Space Mega Force Man" is not to be confused with the SNES shoot 'em up, "Space Megaforce", this instead is just a joke game with MS-paint graphics and gameplay ripped off from 1980's arcade machines, only worse, and on purpose. What do you do in the game? Uninstall it, quickly. Seriously though it's just basic arcade game shooting but with ugly graphics, looking bad on purpose as part of the joke. I'm not sure why people bother wasting $100 on Steam Direct for garbage like this. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It's free, so you really have nothing to lose--try it out, but not for the achievement, as it won't register no matter what you do on version 1.01 (the latest as of writing). It's generic gameplay is made up for by its very interesting aesthetic. The art looks as if it was drawn by a child, and I don't mean that in a bad way. The entire thing looks as if it was doodle in the middle of a boring middle school class, and I really like that. The bits of humor (mostly in the form of sound effects) in this game also make it stand out, but I'd rather not spoil them for you. The game is very short but doesn't outstay its welcome. There are ten rounds with two bonus rounds. It offers five difficulty settings and a bonus mode for replayability. This is actually a really cool game, especially for free. The gameplay alone is pretty fun (even though it can be quite unfair at times), but the graphics are particularly interesting. Ever seen a ZX Spectrum game? The graphics are like that except in higher definition, in a cool way. I'd like to see more games with this kind of style. I don't really like the music, but it's not completely terrible. Do be aware that there is a kissing scene in the game. Thankfully, it can be skipped immediately. The achievement may be broken, but I'm not disappointed overall.
