Spectra is a dynamic twitch racing game that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Blast your nimble ship down intricate ribbons of light in time to the dynamic beats and original soundtrack by chiptune artist legend Chipzel (Super Hexagon, Size Does Matter, Interstellaria).
Be prepared to get your heart pumping as you drift into a trance with just one objective- survive till the music stops! Navigate around obstacles, collect points whilst trying to drive with as much style as possible and stay on the road. As the player progresses through the levels, the speed increases requiring more advanced dexterity to survive!
Featuring two powerful gameplay modes (Normal and Hardcore) with 10 unique music tracks used to generate procedural levels, race against the beat to experience unlimited playthroughs! Staying sharp is essential and reaction timing vital as memory is obsolete with this nostalgia-driven, arcade-like game. tbh i got this game cuz chipzels music is great (thanks just shapes and beats for introducing me to it) but the game is actually pretty boring.3 found this helpful
Spectra is simple. Move left and right to dodge the powerful obstacles..But what they don't tell is the finer nature of the game. The fun you can have drifting across the track, being fancy as you gain airtime off turns and even the ledge if you're daring enough. The way you start bouncing into the air if you get hit enough. And the amazing 8-bit chiptune music album by Chipzel has something for everyone. Every level is regenerated when you start from the menu, so you can quickly swap out a particular design if you don't like it. 10/101 found this helpful
This game plays like when I was first learning to ice skate. Only bought it for Chipzel's phenomenal soundtrack.
Love this game. Simple concept with great music makes me enjoy it so much. Not for everyone but if you love 8bit music you may love this.
A simplistic but fun arcade racer with a neat soundtrack and aesthetic - it's certainly nothing extraordinary but can be very relaxing and doesn't cost a lot of money.
So addictive. sad that this game is getting lots of hate.
