About Square Norm
Notice: Achievements are not working right now. Just know that I'm trying to get it working again but it may not work for some time, if ever.
This game is about a Square, named Norm. Norm has been a Square his entire life and he's begun to tire of it.
So Norm has a brilliant idea! He'll stop being a Square and become a Circle! It's not as easy as it sounds, though...
Norm will need to GAIN SIDES to become ROUNDER. You must guide Norm from WORLD TO WORLD, and BOSS TO BOSS, gaining SIDES along the way!
With each boss Norm defeats, a NEW SIDE will be added to his shape, and with it, a NEW POWER!
Well... what are you waiting for? LET'S GET GOING!!!
Square Norm is a fairly challenging 2d platformer. It starts off easy so you can learn the basics, but quickly ramps up in difficulty later on. If you're looking for a real challenge then look no further!
You move left and right and can JUMP, as well as perform special ACTIONS depending on your shape.
There are ENEMIES to defeat, GAPS to jump over, and special hidden STARS in every stage that will unlock HATS and BOSSES.
JUMP/ACCEPT - Z
ACTION/CANCEL - X
MENU - Enter
LEFT - Left Arrow
RIGHT - Right Arrow
UP - Up Arrow
DOWN - Down Arrow
These are the default controls can be changed in the Options.
There is gamepad support. Connecting a controller for the first time will prompt you to change the configuration.
Thank you for checking out my game! I hope that you decide to try it out!

Square Norm is an asset flip based on the Construct 2 game engine. The developer did some of the work on their own, however, they just copied a 2D retro pixel platformer game template, but put their own levels and "artwork" in. What I like about this is that the developer really wanted to make a video game but didn't have any clear idea how, or any consideration whether it would have any value as a video game in the greater scheme of things. The choice to use the craptastic Construct 2 construction kit confirms this, as well as the somewhat silly $5 price tag (you can get Shadow of Mordor or Skyrim for the same price... and no, this is not as good as those games). Gameplay consists of basic 2D retro pixel platforming. Apparently there's some theme to adding sides to your polygon, but jeez, this is some bottom of the barrel scraping stuff. I can see why this was dumped straight into DailyIndieGame bundles. At least it's not just a pure asset flip, so kudos to the developer for a sincere try.
