About Star Squadron: Student Driver
You dreamed all your life about joining the ranks of Star Squadron, the famed interstellar supergroup of heroic, larger-than-life figures. Danger, intrigue and cosmic adventure await you- but first you'll need to pass your basic piloting exam.
Until they can trust you with their multi-trillion credit spacecraft, you'll need to prove yourself in this T71 Kestral, a rather care-worn training craft whose only weapon shoots ping pong balls. Yes, it's a tad under-powered but the T71 more than makes up for this with rustic charm. You'll love it.
After the "incident" during an earlier attempt, Squadron officials have set up a series of driving test courses in a seemingly harmless derelict space freighter. What could go wrong? Naturally, it would be decidedly non-ideal for you to run into hostile life forms. We ran a scan and are 90% sure-ish that you won't see any. If you do, maybe you can find a way to dispatch them passively. You'll figure it out- or maybe you won't. How exciting!
Zip around through fifteen exciting levels over 5 separate environoments in your quest for the Star Squadron Pilot's License.
Find the hidden tokens in each stage to open up later courses.
One request: please do try not to die. It results in a lot of cumbersome admin and could result in damage to the T71. Also, your demise would go down on your permanent record, so yeah, try to avoid dying.

You just go looking for flags that pop up randomly in different locations with wonky movement.1 found this helpful
Star Squadron Student Driver is an unusual hybrid 2D retro pixel top down shooter/maze negotiation/speed runner game where you "fly" a spaceship through a maze, alternatively shooting things or collecting things or dodging things to get to the win zone as fast as you can. The implementation here is very poor, partly due to the poor choice in game engines, it's using Godot, the craptastic game engine that gives the even more craptastic GameMaker Studio a run for the money on the race to be the worst thing to happen to gaming since microtransactions. The game only displays in fullscreen and locks out your desktop, you can't alt + tab. This is completely unacceptable. Resolution and controls are locked, and can't be changed or customised to improve the visuals or the control experience. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Управление сперва кажется сложным и непредсказуемым, но именно это и делает её такой увлекательной. Попытки припарковаться, не врезавшись в астероид, или пролететь сквозь ворота, не превратив корабль в груду металла, превращаются в весёлые и напряженные испытания. Визуально игра выглядит приятно, яркие цвета и симпатичный дизайн кораблей создают позитивное впечатление. Звуковое сопровождение также хорошо дополняет игровой процесс, добавляя атмосферы. Несмотря на то, что игровой процесс может повторяться, соревновательный элемент и стремление улучшить свой результат мотивируют играть снова и снова. "Star Squadron: Student Driver" - это отличный выбор для тех, кто ищет простую, но увлекательную игру, чтобы скоротать время и немного посмеяться над своими неудачами в космосе. Игра определенно заслуживает внимания любителей аркадных игр с юмором.
Good idea with naive control design, but this unfavor way to control maybe intended to make this game unique.
