Well color me shocked. I didn't see this one coming.... If you like the style of the very early FF games, then this will probably hit pretty well. I grew up on this feel of RPGs so it instantly hooked me. It is pretty easy to get into and manage growth. And it feels pretty light hearted, reminding me a lot of the SNES days. So if you dig that feel, go for it. But I am already noticing the heavy use of status effects, even instant kill early in the game. Instant kill is a big deal to me, and it seems like it comes up a little too much already. That skill killed Skies of Arcadia for me, and i hope it doesn't do the same here. So far there is a lot to love. Equip two swords, get frenzy, and go to town. Trust me...it will be worth it.2 found this helpful

fun game, reminds me of ff1 + pokemon. definitely worth its price tag. story is a bit predictable but that is not a true negative. its simplistic approach is why i had so much fun with it and kept going to the end. my only gripe is the desert temple not having enough keys to unlock all its doors. looking forward to the sequel (?)
