Stranded Sails - Prologue

rokaplay is the epitome of mediocrity. they only published this one but it fits their portfolio perfectly. birds of a feather and subpar devs and publishers flock together. essentially a mobile game, like every title they ever made or published, that looks like it's missing most textures (grass, rock, etc.) and even after a complete revamp of pretty much every mechanic and system (admirable effort if nothing else), it's still not fun to play. basic controls, like selecting items from the toolbar, are unnecessarily finicky, that alone was reason enough not to bother with the full version. I was a fool and complete the demo twice, once the original, then the updated one, because there are things I like or would like if it was a decent experience overall. combat is a joke (a single attack, no dodge, block or anything), cooking is trial & error, movement and exploration are still a pain even after removing energy consumption for some actions. running out of energy means you'll pass out and get teleported home. I don't mind playing mobile games on pc, as there are a lot of cool concepts and I prefer a bigger screen and kb/m controls, but this is simply too basic and lacking to be wort…

On the face of it, nice colourful graphics and good for getting youngsters into the genre of game especially with the talking parrot. The prologues was a bit too limited in terms of crafting to be able to judge how well that system works and/or there will be the freedom to build your own buildings. Assuming the main game will have this prologue parrot as a tutorial I think it would be fine but it's not the sort of game where you need to be guided with th exception of a list of controls which are missing. Could go one way or another with gamers, depends how much freedom the game gives players.
