Perhaps this is not my game genre, but I'm not seeing the 'crisp movement' that's talked about. The video footage certainly LOOKS very slick and flashy, but I can't actually imagine myself ever ATTEMPTING it during a game. The climb is long, very long, so playing on anything but easy difficulty with custom checkpoint placement will have you playing as cautious as possible. Compared to something like the trackmania tower, your movement options and character speed are actually pretty limited. A lot of your time is going to be spent doing very precise double jumps to climb up small islands. That gets very tedious and doesn't _really_ leave a lot of room for on-the-fly improvisation. It's just about cancelling your momentum well enough. Pretty much every funny fall you see in the trailers will set you back 10-20 minutes of platforming, and that's if you play cautious. Are you really risking further falls? Maybe if you have several days to spend on nothing but this game. Speaking of physics, I really DON'T like the fact that double jumping cancels your momentum. Your character feels very heavy and carries a lot of momentum, so you have two choices: skip through the jumps at top speed a…4 found this helpful
Dev did not lie when they said "satisfying movement". I love what they did here.
Physics are really rough. Wouldn't rec in its current state.
Great game for the steam deck!
Nice responsive controls, a challenging world design that feels good to overcome, and a merciful difficulty system. There are rough edges, but none that get in the way of a fun climb. Well worth a few bucks.
One of the best game!
