About Super Perils of Baking
Super Perils of Baking is a ground-up remake of Lillymo Games’ very first title, 2018’s 2D platformer Perils of Baking. In Super Perils of Baking, players take control of a talented student-baker who has but one goal in mind: Stopping his brother -- enchanted by a cursed baking hat garnered from their school's basement -- from wreaking havoc throughout the land.

Written entirely in verse with a storybook-like presentation, Super Perils of Baking spans 50 core levels and totes plenty of secrets, too. With concise 2D platforming, balanced difficulty, beautiful pixel art, a fun soundtrack, and tons to unlock (including new playable characters). Lillymo’s newest offering is made for audiences young and old (and is especially cute for adults to play with their children).

Whether on foot, hurtling in a minecart, swimming underwater, holding onto a balloon, or altering gravity and quite literally turning things upside down, Super Perils of Baking is a food fight for everyone... and True Bakers will find New Game+, Trophies and Achievements, and tons of collectibles to keep them busy post\-adventure, too.

Pretty good 2d side scroller action platformer, although a bit on the difficult side mostly because... ...this game has the mega man 7 effect- the sprites are big so it severely limits fov, and to make up for this there's much more camera movement. If the sprites w ere smaller so I could see more of the level in screen I'm 100% positive I would've loved this game. I DO like it but that one issue is a big one for me. The other issue is most of the music is very...just kinda there. Mostly just bleeps and bloops instead of some well orchestrated NES style music. There's also some tracks that are just a bassline with some bloops which reminded me of that awful Bible Adventures game on NES. Achievements are pretty good and I'm glad there's a lot of them. This game could easily do 100+ which may have make me okay a little longer but I beat the game so I'm good. Either way I'm now a fan of these devs and rip love the doggo too.3 found this helpful
Nice pixel graphics, interesting little story, music is nice but gets repetative quickly, very inspired 2d platformer, gets annoyingly difficult after the first few levels (especially the water level), minecart level was fun, this will only appeal to 40+ y/o who love NES games3 found this helpful
"Super Perils of Baking" is an action platformer game. It doesn't really fit solely one category but as a general genre it's a platformer. It's much more than that though... While the controls are simple, there are countless mechanics which make this game fun! From the basic jump, to traversing while holding onto a balloon, to altering gravity and then some! It does a good job to remind us of the classics we grew up with, or introducing them to the younger generations. With its storybook style and crazy plot, is perfect for everyone! It has kept some unfair elements and cheap deaths but, it's modern, smooth and hot right out of the oven^^ It will bring back all those raging feelings you are familiar with or it will create them for the first time for you. It remains fair and requires practice! There is a new trick every so often and the adventure seems to have no end! I'm not even sure you want to reach the ending... I do have good news for you though! With an NG+ mode, it doesn't have to end! You can also unlock and play new characters for even more flavor^^ Throphies, achievements and an abundance of collectibles will contribute to its replayability as well. It's bound to keep yo…3 found this helpful
Fun classic 2D platformer made by Lillymo Games. This was my first Lillymo game and what better way to start then with a remake of their first ever game. Pros: - Tight snappy controls - Nice looking pixel graphics - Tons and Tons of secrets in every level Cons: - Not much diversity in the levels (Very samey looking and no world themes besides general baking asthetic) - Massive difficulty spike after Level 40 (Level 41-50 were brutal) - Some QoL issues (Can't skip cutscenes, cheap kills in certain levels) Overall I enjoyed the game, but wish there was more thought in the world and level design. Worth a pickup especially when on sale.3 found this helpful
This game takes inspiration of mario but just does too many things much worse. The look of the game is just OK. The platforming and game work alright MOST of the time, however not enough it becomes frustrating. The hitxboxes are inconsistent, as I got hurt many times while landing on the top corner of an enemy but it not registering and just causing me to get hurt. The platforming is also a bit slippery, and sometimes the game eats your jumps. The bouncing jumps can also be somewhat inconsistent. The biggest problem is the repetition of how boring the game is. You are in the same environment the whole game, collecting the same items, and fighting the same few enemies, all centered around food and baking. Theres no new powers, or anything to change up the gameplay. Mario had a variety of environments. You even fight THE SAME EXACT BOSS 5x and he uses the same attacks. The game adds in some minecart levels and balloon levels but the latter is super floaty and imprecise to control, and the other the stage moves too fast its trial and error. The game also handles continues poorly. If you have full health and fall and die, you restart/continue with 1/3 health for no logical reason. No…2 found this helpful
