I bought this primarily for Super Dodgeball - trying to relive my younger days on the Nintendo version where I first played. I really wanted to like this, but honestly, it feels like a mis-mash of various B take Technos games that just aren't all that fun. As for Super Dodgeball, I'm not sure what version it is, but it's not the one I played on Nintendo. The team setup choices are super complicated with abbreviated terms and really no detailed instructions on what all the abbreviations mean. Ultimately - did I get what I paid for. I guess. Did I want what I got? No.12 found this helpful
Because you can't give games a mixed/neutral review, I have to lean towards no on this one unless you are a huge fan of the River City franchise (which started with the NES game "River City Ransom" and Taito's 80s arcade game "Renegade" in the US). There are some decent arcade games here but a number of good ones and major Technos hits are missing, namely the "Double Dragon" trilogy which is probably due to licensing (they gave some of it to Taito), as well as the original arcade "Super Dodge Ball" from the 80s. And no River City Ransom? Most of the console games are also Japanese-only too. I love compilations like this and the number of games is great for the price, but this one is a very niche collection and seems geared more towards Japanese games and not American players. If you want to check it out, wait for a good sale (when it may eventually go 50-75% off).10 found this helpful
I have to say the arcade games are fun but some of the console version games are broken in this collection. I hope i get refunded soon because this was my worst investment.2 found this helpful
A mix bag of games, two of which are Japanese RPGs with no other language options. Quick save state are helpful. The arcade games are typically cheap, and fun. Unless you can read Japanese, have nostalgia of any of the game or love trying different arcade games I recommend giving this game collection a miss and look at other arcade collection instead.
Some of it is in Japanesse.:steammocking:
Good game all around. Wish they provided NES copies of River City Ransom and Dodgeball along with the Gameboy versions. Could have a bigger selection of games in my opinion. Can see a lot of potential in an all Kunio collection should they decide to release more. Worth 20$ easy.
