2020 will go down in history as one of the most disastrous years ever. Everyone alive felt the effects of the events — whether it was discrimination, politics, Mother Nature or the pandemic. To keep our heads up at Games with Geebs, we felt there was no better way to get through the chaotic times than to laugh at them. That's where The 2020 Trail comes in.

Игра 'The 2020 Trail' – это забавная, хоть и неглубокая, попытка сымитировать классическую 'Oregon Trail' в условиях пандемии 2020 года. Вместо дизентерии нас преследует COVID, вместо охоты на бизонов – поиски туалетной бумаги. Сюжет прост: вы бежите из города, охваченного хаосом, в поисках лучшей жизни. Вам предстоит принимать решения о том, что брать с собой, как тратить ресурсы, и с кем объединяться. Решения часто абсурдны и отсылают к реальным событиям 2020 года, что добавляет юмористический аспект игре. Геймплей довольно простой и повторяющийся. Вы едете, сталкиваетесь с событиями, расходуете ресурсы, иногда болеете. Графика нарочито пиксельная и незатейливая, что добавляет шарму ретро-игре. Не стоит ждать от 'The 2020 Trail' глубокого геймплея или сложной истории. Это скорее короткое, веселое развлечение на несколько вечеров, которое заставит вас вспомнить (и посмеяться) над безумиями 2020 года. Если вы ищете что-то более серьезное, лучше пройти мимо. Played in early 2024. Some would say "too soon" But game is still funny and holds up. Game play 6/10 Humor (dark) 10/10 Play Again? Possibly in another 4 years when i need some humbling again for covid 2028
I remember 2020... Many games use references, past events, "nostalgia" (not sure if I can say that about 2020 but...), and this game does it very well. Had a good laugh off it. The concepts of the game are nice too although not too fun, but I can appreciate that it wasn't the main focus of the game. 8.5/10
