About The Desert's Rose

For too long the Fanith family has evaded Justice, they started their rotten escapades of stealing, murder, cheating, back in the 1780s. Since then they managed to wipe out whole towns and commit terrible atrocities only to profit. Unfortunately, the Fanith family is known for their expertise in electronics which only furthers their destruction. On-top of that, they are rude, nasty, and beyond arrogant. Over time, people started to catch on and the family was forced into hiding, no one has seen them since the early 1900s. Anyone who had gone searching for them since has either came up empty handed or never returned. Luck is on our side however and it turns out that the only way for the Fanith family to evade everyone was to create their own virtual world where they could hide from sight. Now that Virtual Reality is more available, its possible someone could now discover their virtual world and bring them to justice, could that be you?

The Desert's Rose is a VR Adventure game where you can interact with everyday items by picking them up, throwing them, crushing them, or hitting them with weapons. There are many different weapons such as maces, swords, guns, and other items. You can open and close Doors and Drawers, you can draw on a virtual whiteboard, you can watch VR TV, and more!

This is an Early Access game and will be constantly updated with new environments, weapons, items, and more. This game will be 100% free and all DLC and updates will also be 100% free. I'm currently a "one man shop" so its just myself working on the game but I am very dedicated to this project and continue to add more and more. One of the visions I have for this game is I'd like it to be like a virtual city you can hang out in and do stuff (and eventually with other players aka multiplayer)

I'm very open to constructive criticism and want to share this world with others and for it to be enjoyed by others. Any suggestions or improvements will be taken in to consideration and put on the list.

✦ AI summary

The Desert's Rose is a free VR sandbox exploration game with some interesting potential, but it remains deeply unfinished with significant missing features like audio, proper object interaction mechanics, and AI functionality. Players appreciate the developer's solo effort and the game's exploratory freedom, but criticize the extremely early state of development, lack of objectives or narrative direction, numerous bugs, and missing polish that make it feel more like a pre-alpha than a playable experience. While the VR implementation works adequately on supported headsets, the game lacks the de

The Desert's Rose is an indie/amateur 3D VR exclusive Unreal engine based first person adventure game. Gameplay consists of wandering aimlessly around various low poly, low quality 3D VR environments and interacting with various things. Like Table Manners but without as much feedback. The game is firmly and deeply in development hell, with no evident plan or probability of being finished, although it did get an update around 2 months earlier than this review. Regardless, it's evidently unfinished. This seems to have been made a VR exclusive to prevent any comparison with non-VR 3D games, a comparison that this game would fail very badly at. Developers must learn that while VR is great, if the only thing that makes the game great is the VR, then the game isn't great at all. The game failed to garner any interest from gamers, only 2 people logged on concurrently when the game launched. Now it's only one logon every couple of weeks, presumably the developer. That's out of 120,000,000 gamers on Steam, the game, despite being free, could only attract player numbers in the single digits. This game serves to highlight the ongoing failure of Valve's Early Access programme. Lik…

The Desert's Rose is a Early Access free VR sandbox adventure game created by Eddie O'Hagan. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded? There was no audio in the game that i noticed. This indie game is made by one person, so it still WIP. You can break objects and toss objects around. There is no objectives. Very buggy. Try this free game if you like to explore in VR.

Very very early access. This game has a lot of potential, especially for a free game. But It's extremely early in development. There's no sound, not even background music. Textures are missing on firearms. No objectives. AI walks around in circles not doing anything. Game doesn't respond to height differences, so you can't bend down to pick things off the ground, on an HTC Vive. As I said earlier, the game has a lot of potential, but it needs a lot of work before any sort of official release. Almost like this is a pre-alpha. Not meaning to slam the developer, as a one man team I have a lot of respect for him. But I would really like to see this game go further than it already has.
