The third installment of the blockbuster Divergent series franchise, ALLEGIANT takes Tris \ and Four \ into a new world, far more dangerous than ever before. After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. "The Divergent Series: Allegiant VR" is barely a game (but you do get to make a decision and shoot some stuff so I guess it scrapes in). It's a VR exclusive advertisement for the somewhat underwhelming film "Divergent" from last decade. And since this is from last decade, too, it looks pretty dated. Graphicswise, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. I mean... you probably saw Divergent already if this was the kind of film you're interested in. 8 years down the track, do you still need an advert for it? Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Didn't anticipated much after the movie itself turned out to be a flop. Gave it a try anyway. It genuinely impressed me how even "good" parts are poorly made: when you see actors (probably mocup from real people) up close it is obvious how badly they are playing. Even dialogs sounds unnatural. When it comes to actual "game" controls are a complete mess and the "game" itself is not fun either. Done.
