This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] "The House Where They Dwell" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from SCAD in the USA. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" games, we must still question what value they have for gamers. This isn't a fully fleshed out game. It's the result of an academic exercise and has much more limited value than a professionally developed game. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments. It helps their marketing and makes students feel good, but it puts the business before the needs of gamers. The students made a not completely unreasonable co-op horror game where you run around a mansion, collect junk, kill spiders and spider nests... if this was a fully fleshed out game instead of a student tech demo, it might even have worked out profitably. But there's the thing about student projects, they're not full games, and when the students finish the course, they stop working on…

This game was pretty fun, I played it with my dad and we both had a good time. It isn't clear what you need to do during the boss fight tho, so we died when we first got to her, which there are no checkpoints meaning we had to start all the way over from the beginning which sucked. I feel like there should have been a checkpoint at the boss. The game isn't that long so it isn't to much of a big deal but still a little annoying nonetheless. All in all it's a pretty good game. Check it out if you're interested, especially if you have a friend to play with you.

ive plaed this game for well over an hour and for the second time i got to the final boss and i broke the 3rd pillar then the spider just stoppped working. She stoppped moving or reacting. Im very disapointed

Terrible gameplay and no checkpoints. If you die, you need to play the whole thing over again. Though I did find some of the dude's lines funny and the voice acting was decent. Only worth trying for the coop, but even then it's not great and it's couch coop only (no remote play together).
