About The Lands of Dream
The Lands of Dream is a classic cycle of point & click adventure games (and one text adventure) that started back before the big indie game boom even began, in the days of freeware and shareware. The biggest and most elaborate one is The Sea Will Claim Everything, which is what this Steam page was originally for, but the other games are now also available here.Each game tells a story from the Lands of Dream, a place beyond our own world yet profoundly tied to it - a world of the imagination, of death, of transformation. They have serious ideas and bad jokes, and far too many mushrooms to click on. Together the individual stories form a tapestry telling of the war against Lord Urizen, the god-king of false reason, and the struggle to preserve Oneiropolis, the City of Dreams.

The Sea Will Claim Everything is a beautiful, humanist game. It cares about moments and the joy of details, it values community and the individual. It believes that the efforts in being honest and kind (to yourself, to others, to the world around you) are true rewards. Ursula Le Guin would feel at home here, in the Lands of Dream. I recommend this game to everyone, though I'm not sure this game is *for* everyone. I think that playing it requires a high level of patience and trust, a willingness to sit still and think and sip a nice drink and maybe a lot of pauses to go and pet a cat, a love of reading 100 book titles and stopping at each one to imagine the person that would own all those books and what they must be like. I think for the people this game does hit for, it will feel momentous and vast and warm. — Also it's now 1/10th the price it used to be, and includes all of the Land of Dreams games in one collection. I'd strongly recommend The Fabulous Screech and The Matter of the Great Red Dragon. And check out the developers audio dramas, The Gospel of the Living Flood and Azathoth Blues (neither of those are on steam, both on your podcast services of choice. And both amazing…
This game is fantastic. I came into it expecting a cosy and funny point and click adventure, but it had so much more depth than I was expecting. It is highly political, and I found it to be much more thoughtfully and competently so than most other games I have ever played. It also manages to hit some quite powerful emotional notes at points; I felt strong genuine anger, dread, and hope at different points in the story. I really highly recommend this game to anyone, but particularly to anyone with an interest in or knowledge of left-wing political theory. The game will probably land pretty well for you if that's you.
A beautiful story that has you going through the world exploring and helping and doing it all through a magical window, which at the end you may find was really just a mirror reflecting back humanity and what it means to be part of a larger something. The effort and love poured into all the little details alone makes this worth the time to really slow down and explore and read everything.
Amazing worldbuilding and mushrooms
Charming point and click with an interesting world and philosophy. Would've liked to see it delve deeper into certain topics but it has that innocent Kyratzes charm evident in Talos Principle 2
Extremely good political commentary. Read their website - they don't care to be subtle, on purpose.
