The Lost Son

Pretty cool game! Its giving me similar vibes to fire boy and water girl, in a good way. There were a few sections that felt tricky playing as a solo player. I really like the secretive theme around the final level, but I almost didn't even play it! I went into the chapter select only to finish the last collectible I missed, but the ending of level 17 wouldn't have led me to believe there was anything left to do. Overall, I had a good time with it and it was refreshing to play a simple puzzle game that didn't get bogged down with ads or unneeded complexity c: I'm excited to see what else you work on!

"The Lost Son" is a poorly made minimalist 2D platformer hammered out with Unity. It lacks polish, it's awkward to play, and the phoned in graphics are offputting. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. I enjoyed the game, would be cool to have a challenge mode or some such though. Lvl 18 was my favorite for this reason as well as those with map elements that encouraged speed. All in all it was pretty nice and chill. Def good for an hour or so.

This is a great game, but I wish whenever we hit reset, we'd be reset back to the very beginning. Additionally, we should have the crystals reset each time we attempt a level or time mode. Finally, fix the full screen issue please. Overall, pretty satisfied
