1976.
Noomi Kovacs—an overeager graduate of the LeCarre Institute for Exceptional Spies (L.I.E.S)—has just landed her first job at Penderbrook Motors’ Division of Outside Intelligence. Confined to an office and underestimated by her gruff supervisor—a disgraced former government agent named Turn—Noomi will have to exploit her colleagues and surroundings to help further her dream of becoming a globetrotting secret agent. Once in the field, Noomi and Turn begin to realize that their company’s dogged pursuit of their rivals extend to something far more sinister than “healthy competition” and the two will be forced to reconsider the paths they’ve chosen. Lying, blackmail, and emotional manipulation will become Noomi and Turn’s greatest assets as they make their way through…The Low Road.
Set in the world of the 1970s automobile industry, The Low Road is a point-and-click graphic adventure game which follows a team of corporate spies dedicated to the protection (and appropriation) of game-changing industry secrets. Sporting a unique visual style inspired by gouache paintings and a pulsating rock and roll score, "The Low Road" will captivate players through intricate puzzles, branching moral dilemmas, and a quirky cast of memorable characters.

This is a rather tedious little point and click adventure, although with slightly more graphical sophistication than your average point and click game, and almost no galaxy brain puzzles and a decent enough play time (not too short, not too long)......unfortunately those are about the best things I can say about the game. Note that almost every complaint I have is purely subjective, so you may love the (for example) art style, and that's okay; feel free to disregard the review. IMHO though, this is a thoroughly un-enjoyable example of the genre. Positives: -Time Investment- The game largely respects your time, although the glacial walking speed results in even the minimal amount of back-tracking feel sooooooooooooo much longer than it actually is. -Puzzles- Definitely doable and you probably won't need a walkthrough as they are mostly common sense and/or fairly deducible. Note that some of the mini-games require something that almost approximates hand-eye coordination. -Music- It's pretty darned good! Unfortunately, you can't adjust the bloody volume........... Meh: -Failure States- I think it's interesting to have dialogue …1 found this helpful
Fun and easy, but incredibly short. Buy it on sale.
A deeply miserable and badly crafted game.
Lohnt einfach nicht
A modern day point-and-click game with an emphasis on a distinctive art style paired to a retro-style 90s buddy-cop dynamic. This made me strangely nostalgic for the old point-and-click games, like Monkey Island. The art style is eye-catching and a pleasure to behold, which made me more patient with the slow walking and climbing (again with the stairs!) animations. I really enjoyed the mini-games when you’re trying to accomplish some of the tasks. It made the game more interactive compared to regular P&C games - the bonus is that it’s not the same type of puzzle so there’s not a lot of repetition. There are 6 chapters for you to go through, with their own music and starting cards, and seeing the story progress is a treat. It did end up more complex than I originally perceived but I’m starting to see that <spoiler>cults are almost a staple in American stories</spoilers>. Although I did enjoy the story and the art, some of the gameplay mechanics took me out of the experience. For some mini-games, there’s no explanation or return button so you need a walkthrough or you need to be more intuitive to what the puzzle is asking you to do. Or perhaps it’s a skill issue because …
If you like story rich games this is a must play, a funny story about a spy who doesn't want to waste her time as an assistant, and wants to cause chaos. You spend 70% of this game listening to dialogue, the VAs casted were phenomenal and added real emotion to their characters. The main female spy is hilarious, the game play was very beginner friendly and the story was easy to follow. 100% recommend if you're looking for a funny point and click game :)
