The Meter Is Running is a management game about trying to keep a taxi dispatch alive when everything is stacked against you.You run a small taxi dispatch in Istanbul with limited resources and debt hanging over your head. You assign drivers to customers across a physical city map. So distance and deadhead matter. A bad call early in the day can cost precious time.
Each day brings new fares, difficult decisions, and unexpected events. When drivers encounter a situation they will call back to base and you’ll face narrative events with choices shaped by who’s involved. You have 15 days to earn enough money to stay afloat or your dispatch shuts down and you lose everything. Every morning you can see the new pool of drivers available to hire. Each driver has a different combination of traits and stats. More importantly, each one comes with their own personality, totaling over 1200 unique lines. Pick your favorites and assemble your fleet.
Each shift takes roughly 15-20 minutes, you can buy permanent upgrades to your garage between shifts to increase your chances of paying off the debt in 15 days.
Paying the debt is one side of the coin. The other question is, how far are you willing to go for money? That forgotten wallet looks a lot juicier when the debt is right around the corner. But some choices run deeper than others, and the community remembers. The meter is running!

[h2]Overall: 10/10[/h2] [h3]Story:[/h3] I actually like the story's premise of having to pay off a massive debt since it gives the taxi-management gameplay a grounded and believable reason to exist instead of just throwing you into the driver's seat for the sake of it. You're not building up a business simply because "that's the game"; you're trying to dig yourself out of a financial hole that wasn't even your fault. There's a short text-based intro from your uncle explaining that you're the guarantor on the loan he took out to open the taxi business in the first place, but beyond that, the narrative is about as simple as it gets. A full playthrough only lasts around 3-5 hours, and it's pretty clear this game's focus isn't on telling some deep, character-driven story filled with emotional moments or shocking plot twists, but I honestly don't think it needs to be. The premise does exactly what it needs to do by giving your actions context, then it gets out of the way and lets the gameplay take over. That said, I was genuinely surprised to find out that [spoiler]there are multiple endings based on your reputation and the play-style/tactics you used throughout your playthrough. Quite fun, easy to get in, humorous and worth the money. Considering it is based in Istanbul it desperately needs a night shift mode and more night events like getting chased by a paparazzi.1 found this helpful
