About The Sand Man

“Shh...
Keep quiet...
Don’t say anything.
You have nothing to worry about.
That’s just a monster growling...
The monster inside the closet.
Hehe.
Just kidding.
Alright then...
So you’re not sleepy yet, hm?
In that case, I’ll tell you a scary story.
It’s so scary you might not be able to take it.
It’s the story of the Sand Man...”

It's a pretty nice game. I like the 2d pixelated gameplay. The story is quite nice and unexpected tbh. Definitely recommend. (Gimme more games like this. ;p)

Second game in "The ___ Man" series, a HUGE difference to the first one, The Crooked Man. It's not a horror and doesn't have the atmosphere that the first installment had, not what I was expecting at all when playing. That said, the writing is really good, perfect example of narrative framing with both perspectives being shown, the endings we're INCREDIBLE loved all of them, characters were adorable and everyone's relationship was just wholesome. I'm hoping for more psychological horror from the other two games but this was a welcome reprieve from being terrified and on edge. Goated games so far.

I've never been (and never will B) an anime fan. But Uri is incredible at creating a well made horror game and telling a well written story. If U want, dive into her twisted mind and pray 2 God U make it out alive. Rating: 7/10

The Sand Man, the second game within Uri's "Strange Men" series is a relatively solid entry, if not a little weaker than its predecessor, the Crooked Man. As one would come to expect, the story follows a girl named Sophie who has trouble sleeping (and also trouble in her life, too) as she one night awakens to everyone being knocked out asleep in an eternal night. Spoilers for the Story: [spoiler]Now, the premise is interesting, the Sand Man being this figure that works tirelessly because of timezones and really only wants to sleep too, so he decided to put everyone to sleep except a select few who are invulnerable to his eternal sand dust or whatever. That's cool. However, from a narrative standpoint, I think the story kind of fails trying to convey Sophie's arc? Again, I am fresh right out of the game writing this review and only got the "Good Ending", but I genuinely don't get what her being hostile to everyone except for her dad (later on), and David in the end is going to achieve? I mean, I guess she's sort of taking initiative and finally standing up for herself is one way to read it as. Finally realizing that she can't always be the punching bag, always be dismissive, alway…
