Six protagonists, male and female soldiers, wanderers, and commanders, fight their own battles in this RPG. Each story stands alone as a short campaign, but the characters and events intersect along the same timeline. Playing another protagonist connects events that once seemed like isolated fragments. This ensemble narrative is the game's greatest strength. Each route has different objectives and systems, with multiple endings determined by your choices and accomplishments. Items and save data are shared across all protagonists, while levels and equipment carry over into later runs. This is more than simply reading six short stories in sequence. You search for effects that cross into other routes, fill out endings and the gallery, and gradually assemble the full picture of the war. Its modest file size gives little hint of how much time it can absorb. One protagonist is a frontline soldier seeking promotion. Another is a wanderer choosing jobs while traveling the land. This H-game is ancient, like from 10 years ago now? That said, it's also one of the classics, with the level of scale and worldbuilding still unmatched by today's titles (biased opinion). There are 6 stories, and you can meet other main + supporting characters in your current playthrough, provided certain conditions be fulfilled. I stood up and clapped multiple times. There is no spell or potions here. If you spend MP or lose HP, there's no way to recover, unless you proceed to the next chapter by resting. This means decisions are valued, you must balance between fighting multiple fights or saving strength for a big guy. Great to see the game on Steam. Fay is best girl, and the three male protagonists are literally me.
