Players praise the gambling roguelite concept and note that the AI opponents can play competently on certain characters, but criticize significant technical issues including unbalanced difficulty that varies wildly between characters, a major bug where players post blinds without money, and poor graphical choices like inconsistent art quality and pixelated card suits that are hard to distinguish. The game feels unfinished and requires substantial fixes before it's worth playing, even at its low price point.
Players keep getting hands when they have 0BB left in the tournaments, and they still post blinds as if they had money. So they're considered "all-in" in several hands they shouldn't. I played as the 'old pro' and another tech-guy and the game was very balanced and hard, I busted twice testing how the players would play (and they would call big raises and play well). Then I played as 'the hustler' and 95% of the time everyone folds to 1/2 pot raises pre-flop. Seems like something went poo-poo there - I wonder if some sort of difficulty downgrade if I go bust too much? This third time I played ~100 hands and raised some ~30 hands and got only 2 calls, winning the tournament. No re-raises from the other players. Unfortunately, this is not ready.2 found this helpful
I'm a sucker for gambling roguelites so decided to give this a try even though it had zero reviews. Long story short: It's not great which isn't a deal breaker for $3. The bigger issue is the obvious corner cutting like why is my portrait super detailed while everyone else at the table is a glorified stick figure? That's just weird and puzzling in an age where you can generate a collection of similar portraits in a matter of seconds. Also, the lazy implementation of the pixelated graphics make it difficult to read important text or even see the card faces. Several times I wasn't sure what suit I was looking at because, for example, hearts and diamonds both look like a red blob. If anyone else is like me and looking at this store page out of curiosity, give this a pass until the price drops to the 99 cent range or the devs roll out some patches to fix some of the issues I detailed above. Had an absolute blast with this one. The old-school pixel/retro art style is genuinely cool, it nails the noir mood. Very easy to keep coming back to. Recommended if you're into poker or roguelites, or just wanna play something different.1 found this helpful
