About Tiny Gods Of The Nile
Welcome to Egypt ! With your friends, play as gods in training and complete magical recipes for your classes ! Have fun : cheat, cast spells… But be careful, Râ your teacher will gladly scold you if you get caught !
About:
Tiny Gods of the Nile is a local co-op game for 2 to 4 players where your goal is to make a potion in a limited amount of time, watched by a strict teacher, who will judge and score your potion !
Student Project
Inspired by Overcooked, this game was created by second year students at IAD, with the goal to develop a co-op game. The music and sounds were made by sound design students at Audio Workshop.
2 to 4 players
During the game, you will be able to team up as a group of maximum 4 players to find the right ingredients and successfully complete the recipe as fast as possible. You will be able to carry each other and throw items at each other, transform them and work as pairs to open sarcophages, but nothing stops you from playing tricks on your friends.
The levels
Râ will give you a grade depending on the quality of your work. This grade will allow you and your friends to unlock new levels with more ingredients, more challenging recipes and hidden items… Cheating will become more and more needed ! Be wary of Râ!
Before I played Tiny Gods Of The Nile, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
1 found this helpful
Tiny Gods Of The Nile is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from IAD 3D in France. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This year the students made a simple mobile app like hybrid stealth action game and "restaurant" game with an Egyptian cats theme... ok whatever. The idea is you need to make potions and things while at the same time avoiding the sight cone of "Ra" or whatever, who doesn't like it when you take shortcuts on making your potions. An interesting idea, but less than awesome implementati…
Worth the price, good concept but glitchy execution.
Fun game that supports local co-op. There are issues though in the second region that are game breaking, though I can't tell if these are bugs or me: - How do you reach scrolls placed at the very top of the cabinet? - How do you get passed the room in the second region that requires a grey coloured tooth? No object in the room combines with a tooth that creates that item. Let me know if anyone figures this one out.
