Tracebound

Tracebound is a really unusual little game because the whole thing is built around ice skating on the body of a massive sleeping giant. I play as Ayor and have to skate across the giant while avoiding hazards, jumping over gaps and keeping my speed up. The idea sounds strange, but it actually gives the game a clear identity straight away. I am not just running through another fantasy world. I am moving across something that is basically alive, and the world around me is built around that idea. The skating itself is the part I enjoyed most. Keeping my momentum while turning, jumping and moving around the giant can feel really smooth once I get used to it. There are sections where I have to react quickly and use the shape of the environment to keep moving instead of stopping every few seconds. I like that the game rewards me for staying in motion because it makes even simple areas feel more exciting when I start getting into a rhythm. The movement also gives the game a nice sense of speed without needing a complicated control system. The story is quite simple, but I think it works well with the setting. The story wasn't there. Why even name the main character if you're not gonna give her a story? The concept is cool, but you should've kept this one in the think tank for a little longer. I was confused in the beginning and ended up with the mindset there is healing after this i will just use my head and it ended up cutting down the time of the "game" to a mere minutes when it took longer to download then to play. the concept was cool but 90 percent of the time I felt slow and I hit an invisible wall that stopped me within the first minute of the game and made me turn around. What is the vision with this game? Is there more giants we have to free? Are we done after saving the one? What got the character to this point? Why did they have the pink coral on them? How was our equipment made? i wish there was more to the game as well the idea is there but it is not worth the space it takes to download it

very small game. good movement and decent story. if this ever gets a larger version, ie more giants and lore, i would def play
