About Undead Blackout: Reanimated Edition

Undead Blackout: Reanimated Edition is a complete overhaul of the original Undead Blackout. The core elements of zombies, top-down action and fighting in occasionally very dark areas all remain but now at least three-hundred times better.

Reanimated Edition
The entire game has been rebuilt from the ground up and now offers a much more streamlined and enjoyable play experience. Gone are the somewhat open-ended and confusing levels from before which have been replaced by 10 (an increase over the original 6) focused, action orientated and much more challenging stages.

Blackout Zones
The levels are focused around Blackout Zones. Areas that you cannot escape from until a door is sufficiently powered up and as the name may suggest, the lighting in these areas is somewhat limited. Blackout zones become more frequent as the game progresses. Can you escape before being overpowered by zombies? I hope so. But don't worry if you do fall, the game now has a Checkpoint System which means you don't have to start all over again.

Story
There wasn't really much of a story before and I won't lie, there isn't much of one now. The Undead have risen. You need to make your way to Kennedy Docks and catch the last boat out of town. 10 Levels stand in your way. Oh and a whole load of zombies of course.

I wasn't holding out much hope for Undead Blackout, but I can say in all honesty that it managed to underwhelm me even beyond those minimal expectations. Graphically, the game is very dark. It's nearly impossible to see anything, which tells me that the "gimmick" for this game is nothing more than a poorly done game of, "Hide & Seek." While I will admit that it was a bit creepy the first time I enountered a group of zombies standing with their backs to me, that only works once. It ceases to be interesting when it's overdone. The game starts you off with a limited amount of health and stamina, but neither are enough to accomplish anything. Your flashlight illuminates a very small area, though you do have the ability to turn 360 degrees to light up your surroundings. The problem is that zombies will often pop up behind you when you're trying to open doors or look inside of a cell to determine if it's worth entering. This concept is also overdone, as there are numerous cells, doors, and rooms, with a huge amount of empty, wasted space. I played for an hour, yet I didn't see anything of value, nothing that would remain with me after the game. Keys, weapons, ammo, and health packs a…

Okay, I want to thank the developer for giving me a free copy for evaluation the day before it launched. When I reviewed this game the day before it launched here on Steam, the price tag was not yet known. After playing the game enough to give my first impressions, I assumed this game would have a $2 or $3 price tag and that he might even ask 99 cents for it. That first impressions can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHo_Fa28yvI Now, after seeing that this guy is actually trying to ask an insane $10 USD for this game, even with its initial 10% discount, this is about as absurd as it gets here on Steam. I understand that making a game, especially as a new game developer is very time consuming and takes a lot of work. However, you also have to take a cold, hard look at what this game is when you put it up on Steam, and compare it against other games of a similar style. In my first imrpessions video, I scored the game and stated that I would "assume" a $2 price tag.. for IF this game launched at $2, the value would still be low.. giving it a 5 out of 40 based on a $2 or $3 price tag. But now knowing how ridiculous of a price this guy is asking, I change my va…
