"Unholy Village Free Version" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is one of literally thousands of first person horror adventure asset flips infesting Steam, notable only because it was a failed paid product, and is considerably worse than most of the other first person horror asset flip adventures on Steam. As always the price tag on an asset flip is a direct attempt from either shady or talentless developers to get YOUR money for someone else's game assets, and this is never okay. After the prologue, my character would not move. Unplayable.

Unholy Village Free Version is a short survival horror experience that I found interesting mainly because of its abandoned village setting. I play as Joseph, who travels to the village for his sister's funeral before an accident leaves his friends missing. What starts as a search for them quickly turns into something much more disturbing as I discover that the village has been taken over by a supernatural curse. The exploration is fairly open and gives me plenty of reasons to search through abandoned buildings. I need to look for ammunition, medical supplies and other useful items while trying to understand what happened to the people living there. I liked this part because the village does not feel completely empty. Even when I am not fighting anything, I have the feeling that something could be nearby. Survival is built around knowing when to fight and when to hide. There are infected creatures, the demon itself and human enemies, so I cannot assume that every threat can be handled in the same way. You Couldn't Pay Me To Play This Again, Every Five Minutes The Camera Gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Up, The Voices Sound Like The Devs Have Gone On Bing And Searched "Free AI Voice", It's Not Scary And No Dead People Can't Hear Because Their Dead

I don't recommend it, even for the free version.
