[i]Vernon's Legacy[/i] is another representative of the wave of first-person indie horror-adventure games using the amazing Unreal Engine 4 from 2016. Unfortunately I can't say that it stands out from the crowd, as the initially promising atmosphere and story quickly dwindles into (below) mediocrity. While some people dared to compare this game to [url=steamcommunity.com/id/atisz2/recommended/57300/]Amnesia: The Dark Descent[/url], mainly because of the note/memo-based storytelling formula (or the way our protagonist carries his lantern which sways by the way as if there were no gravity), I think any comparison would be a disgrace to that amazing game. In Germany, shortly after World War I, a young man named Robert returns to the mansion of his recently deceased uncle, the titular Vernon's. With the servants gone, the building is now completely abandoned. While exploring the old manor he finds various letters and notes written either by the late owner or by the attendants which mention strange events taking place in the estate originating from the vault/catacomb system down under. Steam really has to figure out a better way to quality control. I feel really bad for everyone who stuck around since Early Access...a great idea tossed out the window and ruined. Play a project that the developers actually care about instead and skip this one.1 found this helpful

Vernon's Legacy is a very correct game, within the indies I would rate it a 6/10, the game is fun, technically competent, with a good story (quite wasted) and some scenarios (they are few) very good, the game offers you just over an hour of good fun. After reading this you will wonder why I do not recommend it, it is simple, the game is good but it is NOT worth 11 euros, you cannot ask for 11 euros for a 1:30 hour game that is entertaining and slightly above average. I recommend buying it on sale, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Honestly was hoping this game wasn't just copy and paste maze levels with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ai and some halfway decent puzzles. but alas. also had many issues starting up with direct x, fullscreen and v sync, wouldn't refund for that and the constant crashing.
[h1]Vernon's Legacy[/h1] [i]Short&sweet walking simulator with a "scary" entity and lots of documents to read / exquisite graphical presentation and simple puzzles which are welcomed - you have the feeling that this game didn't reached its true potential - i recommend also Lethe - Episode One if you liked this title ![/i]
