    ✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's atmospheric Victorian mansion design and exploration-focused puzzle gameplay without combat threats, but consistently criticize technical issues including camera jank, bugs, and poorly balanced or confusing puzzles that sometimes require walkthroughs. The game is recommended primarily as a budget purchase on sale rather than at full price, with complaints about underwhelming storytelling, awkward controls, and inconsistent interaction mechanics detracting from the otherwise immersive setting.

Felt cheap from the very start, and that impression never changed. Non-rebindable controls, a loading screen every time you exit the menu, doors that close on you ridiculously quickly, a hundred drawers and cabinets to open only to find 99 of them empty, three simonsays-esque "puzzles" that are just meant to be bruteforced, an abrupt ending that I did not even realize I was about to trigger, and many other minor but compounding annoyances. Completed in only 5 hours, it feels like most of that time was spent running around trying to open visually nondescript doors to find the one door I could now open with a new key. I could maybe give the game some slack if it was cheaper, but at the asking full price of £16? Absolutely not. Your money is much better spent elsewhere.

I got this on sale for $2, but it isn't worth my time. It often isn't clear whether you have the information needed to solve any given puzzle. And at least in one puzzle, the hint just straight up gives you the solution: "apparently the masks need to be placed in this order: <lists order>". If the information needed to arrive at that order were in the game, the hint should guide you to the solution instead of giving the answer, and if it's not then the whole puzzle is just "ask for a hint". In my opinion, hints should never be necessary to solve a puzzle. Also the graphics look like they're from the mid 2000s, there are many typos, and a lot of the in-game text is poorly written. If you want to play a game with a title like The Noun of Adjective Place-To-Live, go play the Seance at Blake Manor or the Incident at Galley House :)

It's a good, quick medium difficulty puzzle game with an interesting plot. Def worth the price I paid.
