About Whimsy

Whimsy is the story of a girl who has always lived in the forest.
One morning she awakes to find little red footprints outside her door.
As any fearless protagonist would, she follows them. They lead her through the forest where she meets new woodland friends (and foes) while solving charming puzzles.

Whimsy may be a short game, but it leaves a lasting impression. I honestly can't believe this game is free. I would have gladly paid for it without a second thought. Every moment feels crafted with care, from the charming art style to the cozy atmosphere and the little details that make it so memorable. I won't spoil anything, but if you're looking for a short experience with a lot of heart, this is absolutely worth your time. It's another reminder of how much creativity and personality Madison Karrh puts into every game. After playing Birth, Landlord of the Woods, and now Whimsy, I'm officially a fan. I truly hope Madison Karrh continues making these wonderful games because I'll be first in line to buy whatever comes next.

Unfortunately the most frustrated I have been playing any puzzle game I enjoyed the message, and it definitely lends itself as the creator's first game, and a great starting point for making puzzle games leading up to Birth, one of my favorite stories and messages in a puzzle game that I have played thus far However, it is nearly unplayable, whereas most of the solutions I gained were by pure accident, clicking random things in mild frustration because I did not know where to find the solution. Finding the hints for puzzles appears to be a puzzle within itself, and I found myself having to find a guide in the very first area. I enjoy puzzle games immensely, I like to take my time to find each solution, and found myself wanting to finish Whimsy as soon as possible. In great contrast, as early as Landlord of the Woods I found the puzzles much more enjoyable, and I recommend playing that or Birth instead. It is visually very beautiful, holding the same charm as later games, and the deep message of one's place in the universe is very meaningful. A good philosophical run through if you pull up a walkthrough to reference when the game seems to slog along

Worked well enough on the deck, loved it but not as much as landlord of the woods. I almost felt too stupid for it but that's a skill issue.
