One of the greatest VR experiences I've taken part of. This is an essential game that I show off to friends. Devs, please add some DLC to this game!!!2 found this helpful
Jank. That's the best way to describe this. It routinely doesn't detect the paddle is in the water. Even when it is in the water, it often has no effect at all. It WOULD be a fun game if the controls weren't horrid. Refunding since there is a much better option out there, just wish this one with more rapids was, ya know, playable.1 found this helpful
Awesome game but PLEASE allow at least two mates race each other!!!1 found this helpful
Beautiful game, second in graphics only to Kayak Mirage. Much for fun though due to the thrilling gameplay. There were times when I legit thought I was going to get wet! Played through all the maps on Free Play. Will jump back in later to do the other modes. Def recommend. With a 5090 and Meganex 8K this looked incredible
The graphics are beautiful but the jank is mad. I would hit the banks at low speed, fly into the air, spinning madly, and then land 30m away. The physics feel totally unrealistic. Also sitting in a normal office chair and even with the max height adjustment of 80cm, I am still basically sitting on the floor of the kayak, far too low. I saw another review saying turn off quest lying down mode so I will try that. But I am almost afraid of playing the game again in case I go flying over the forest at ridiculous heights just for bumping into a rock.
I’ve thought about buying this for quite a while, and finally picked it up at a reduced price. I have very mixed feelings about it. The landscape graphics are nice (though my framerate/settings made me give the game back), the water is not nearly as white as the environment would command, the kayak also looks great. One major disappointment is too close to reality ;) - the water levels are really low. You would get stuck a lo. As expected, advanced paddle strokes don’t translate well to VR — the paddle just doesn’t have the same effect or speed as in real life. However, leaning actually works nicely through headset tilting, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it was fun to try, with some good parts and some unsatisfying ones. Rock sliding is also quite fun. In the end, I refunded it after seeing too many flaws, but it’s a nice way to get started if you don’t have your own kayak.
