World War 2 Operation Husky

I started playing without reading the tutorial and after a couple of restart I figured it out. Good game, thanks :)

I have a lot of fun playing this game. For those who enjoy playing Battle of the Bulge and Drive on Moscow, you will love this one. Operation Husky has additional units like bombers, artillery and paratroopers that make it greater. Similar to these two games, the battle ground is on one single map and the game has everything for a fast pace experience. The game is easy to play, highly tactical and is a very strategic wargame. Hills, forests and cities provide complexity and advantages in the Italian island of Sicily. Small imperfections found in the previous versions have been corrected and the AI was improved. Combats are fast, powerful and efficient and bombing or shelling supports are fun to watch. Graphics and sounds are professional. A game can be resolved in between 30 minutes to 2 hours. I like the fact that unit counters have been kept to the essential. And another great feature is the internet connection with almost no delays. Well done, I really recommend this wargame to those who like not too complicated, quick, but highly tactical wargame. Can’t wait to play against you!

The game is simple to learn, yet has nuances that make it highly re-playable, exactly what you would need for face to face. I found the AI to be adequate and the map easy to navigate. It plays differently every time I play it. The price IMHO is a steal, especially when you get it on sale from Steam :) . I dont believe I wasted my time or money. The choice of units are limited, but reinforcements add a some spice to it and air strikes can be called in. Its not perfect, but what is. I recommend it.

There is one map but 10 scenarios that change the amount of troops each side etc. so it adds to replayability. [h1]Bad things:[/h1] There is no tutorial – just a wall of text that you have to read to understand the game and that wall of text makes it sound complicated but the game in the end is not really a strategy but just an RNG with a lot of clicking to win. Also you can play each turn for as many rounds as you want so in the end you can capture strategic positions and move all your troops and become unpenetrable wall of tanks fast and then spend remaining 7-8 turns just destroying any 1-2 enemies that spawn each turn giving you 17 points each turn and 0 points for enemy. Also the points each turn don’t matter as you win the game or lsoe the game solely on the points you get for the last 10th turn. The music is so simple and it is just a few short sounds that plays in a loop probab…

If you want to get into a fight quick, you have to try this one. Zero problems with movements, I mean you don't get stock behind a bridge for three turns and everything is calculated for you. You just have to select where you want to go, very easy. Combats are also very efficient, 3 rounds for every combats, you see results in the combat zone in no time. There is also a multitude of setup scenarios for hours of fun. I recommend you give it a try.

This is a nice improvement from game like battle of the bulge. Good innovation with ground and air support. Flawless mechanic. Variable AI strength. The new version bring this game to an excellent level. Well done. I like it.
