However, the Axis has the starting advantage; the Allies need to avoid being caught dead in the water. Although most units are preassigned to a beach, each game is won or lost by the placement of cards that provide additional forces or support. Not only is the state of each beach important to consider for these decisions, but also the geography of the coastline - after a beach has been won, the victorious forces can flank adjacent beaches. Both players must always be thinking ahead, looking for ways to best utilise their cards down the line.

Players consistently criticize the game for poor tutorials and unclear mechanics that make it nearly impossible to learn without prior knowledge of the original card game, combined with what feels like overwhelming randomness and luck-dependent gameplay rather than genuine strategy. The computer AI is described as either crushingly unfair or frustratingly broken, and the overall balance appears skewed, leaving new players confused and frustrated rather than engaged or challenged.

If you don't know the card game its based on... neither the computer or the abreviated "this is what is going on" in the first battle really helps to gain that understanding. With a person to play the game against, you can ask for help to understand it. For a person to person game, playing against an inexperienced opponent isn't that enjoyable - its important to get a person who plays at the same level as you do so that you can be challenged. When playing against the computer... the computer really doesn't care, it will crush you. It won't offer help. You play again, you click things that you can click for some reason (and miss things that you really should have clicked), and the computer beats you again. There's no challenge as an inexperienced player playing against the computer and a very unrewarding process of trial and error to better understand the game.14 found this helpful
If there's any strategy to this game, I sure as hell don't know what it is. (The tutorial isn't much help.) It seems like it's just of matter of getting lucky to have the right attack or defense cards in your hand, and if you don't, you're just SOL. It doesn't seem like there's much of anything that can be done to mitigate the luck factor. Even the discussions of the original tabletop version suggest this is very imbalanced in favor of the Germans.5 found this helpful
1/10 not so much strategy as it is random unit spawner with cards you can play every once in a while. started an AI vs AI fight to get a feel for the game cause the tutorial didn't help at all. One side just kept spawning units well the other side did nothing until they lost.4 found this helpful

I set a AI vs AI game, It's been almost 6 hours and I don't know who is winning and it doesn't seem to finish soon. WOW my PC it having great time by itself :D3 found this helpful
