The game play feels new and there are some innovative elements to it. ZomWick takes the familiar foundations of tower defense and reshapes them around a surprisingly different objective. Rather than building an arsenal capable of wiping out waves of enemies, the game focuses on slowing threats down and keeping them occupied for as long as possible. Developed and published by Cookie Koala, it presents a non-violent approach to zombie-themed strategy, replacing destruction with positioning, movement control, environmental manipulation, and careful use of defensive tools. This unusual concept gives the game an identity that separates it from the many traditional tower defense titles built primarily around increasing damage numbers. The central gameplay loop is about buying time. ZomWick is a really strange take on tower defense because I am not actually trying to kill the enemies. The whole idea is to keep Zomwick away from me for as long as possible by slowing him down and using the environment to buy myself more time. I can place and move towers around the map, and instead of spending the usual tower defense currency, I have to think more about positioning and how everything interacts with the terrain. I like the idea because it immediately makes the game feel different from a normal zombie defense game. The tower placement is the part I enjoy most. I am constantly looking at the route Zomwick is taking and thinking about where I can put something that will slow him down or change how he moves. Towers can be moved around, so I am not completely locked into the first setup I make. That makes the strategy more active because I can react to what is happening instead of simply sitting back and watching my original defence work. I like having to think quickly, especially when the pressure starts building and I have less room for mistakes. Zomwick's a decent intro to tower defence games for kids. Only short and lacks variety but the core concept is interesting and there are some experimental/unusual mechanics which I did enjoy. ZomWick's like a Tapper game but with only 1 bad guy, although the floor has boosts and you can install temporary turrets. Needs more variety. It's interesting but easy & slow moving. Kid friendly.
