Black Myth Wukong price: the floor lasted one day

Look up the Black Myth Wukong price on almost any tracker and you will be shown a number that looks like a collapse — a game that launched at full price two years ago, apparently now going for loose change. Then you click through, and the figure on Steam is nothing like it.

Both numbers are real. They are just measuring different shops. Here is what our own price record for Black Myth: Wukong actually shows over the window we have tracked it, why the cheapest figure has been a keyshop figure every single day of that window, and what that means if you are trying to decide whether to buy it today or wait.

What the Black Myth Wukong price record actually shows

Our continuous daily record for this game runs from 18 June 2026 to today, 10 September 2026 — 83 days of readings. That is the honest limit of what we can tell you; the game came out on 20 August 2024, and we do not have day-one data for it, so treat any claim about its "all-time" low with suspicion, including ours.

Within that window the shape is clear. The game opened the window at its full sticker price, fell steadily through the first half of July, drifted sideways through August, and then did something odd at the very end of the month.

The floor lasted exactly one day

The lowest price we have on record for this game landed on 30 August 2026. It held for that single day. On 31 August it went back up, sat flat for a couple of days, and by 2 September it had climbed to roughly where it has stayed ever since — a level it has not moved more than a few cents from in over a week.

This matters more than the number itself. A floor that lasts one day is not a sale you can plan around; it is a single merchant briefly undercutting itself. If your strategy is "wait for the historical low", you are waiting for something that, on this game's recent behaviour, is visible for about twenty-four hours and gone. Every cheap reading has been a keyshop reading

Here is the part the tracker headline hides. On every day in our window where the price dipped meaningfully, the merchant setting that price was a key reseller rather than an official store. The gap between the best official price and the best keyshop price on this title has been consistently large — larger than on most games we track — and it has not closed.

That is not automatically a reason to avoid the cheap option, but it changes what you are buying. A key from a marketplace reseller carries no Steam refund window of its own, the seller is often an individual rather than the shop, and region restrictions are the buyer's problem to check. The practical version: if you see a Wukong price that looks too good, check which shop it belongs to before you plan around it. The live figures on the game page are split by merchant type for exactly this reason.

There is only one edition, which is the good news

Wukong has avoided the thing that makes most modern action games annoying to buy. There is no season pass to weigh up, no deluxe tier with a weapon skin, no "complete edition" arriving eighteen months later to make your purchase look premature. Game Science shipped one product and has kept patching it.

The only other Wukong entry you will find on Steam is the Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool, which is free, separate, and genuinely worth running before you buy. This is a demanding game with heavy use of ray tracing and upscaling, and the benchmark will tell you in ten minutes whether your machine can hold a frame rate you will enjoy. Is it worth it at today's price?

The reception has not wobbled. Steam currently shows Overwhelmingly Positive from just over 1.2 million reviews, 96 per cent of them positive, with recent reviews sitting at Very Positive on 94 per cent and a flat trend. That last figure is the one that ages a game honestly — plenty of 2024 hits have seen their recent score sag as the audience broadens past the enthusiasts. Wukong's has not.

It also still has players. Our record shows a concurrent count in the tens of thousands, two years after release, for a game with no multiplayer and nothing to grind. That is a single-player action game people are still starting from scratch, which is about the strongest signal a back catalogue purchase can carry.

Who should skip it

It is harder than its marketing suggests and less flexible than the games it gets compared to. If you bounced off Elden Ring because you could not out-level a wall, Wukong will be worse for you, not better — there is no open world to go and grow stronger in, and the boss order is largely fixed. Bottom line

Do not wait for the floor on this one. The lowest Black Myth Wukong price we have recorded existed for a single day at the end of August 2026 and came from a key reseller, not an official store — it is not a level you can reliably catch. If the current figure on the game page is close to that band and you are comfortable with where it is being sold from, buy it; if you want an official-store copy, expect to pay a real premium and buy it during a proper storewide sale instead.
