PGA TOUR 2K25 sale: when it discounts, and how low it goes

PGA TOUR 2K25 sale: when it discounts, and how low it goes

Annual sports games have a well-earned reputation for collapsing in price the moment next year's model appears. Golf is the exception, and the PGA TOUR 2K25 sale record is the clearest case on our books: the game has been out since February 2025, there is still no announced successor, and the cheapest listing we can find has spent the last five weeks refusing to move.

Here is the part that is ours rather than a press release. Our record holds 96 daily readings of the cheapest tracked offer for the game, beginning 19 June 2026. The lowest of them was $9.20, recorded on 24 June 2026 — the floor we have ever seen. Since 16 September 2026, every single reading has landed between $14.57 and $14.72: five straight weeks inside a fifteen-cent band. Read on 25 October 2026 from the PGA TOUR 2K25 price history on its Playze page.

What our record shows about the PGA TOUR 2K25 sale pattern

Read month by month, the cheapest offer we tracked did not drift downwards over the summer. It drifted up.

  • June 2026 — floor $9.20, and never above $11.48
  • July 2026 — floor $11.20
  • August 2026 — floor $10.41, after a sharp drop on 27 August
  • September 2026 — floor $10.13 on 15 September, then a jump to $15.08 the next day
  • October 2026 — floor $14.57, the highest monthly floor in our record

That 16 September jump is the single most useful date here. One day the cheapest listing was $10.13; the next it was $15.08, and it has not been under $14.50 since. Whatever was supplying the cheap end of the market dried up, and nothing has replaced it. If you were waiting for the price to keep sliding, it has been going the other way for over a month.

Why there is no annual crash to wait for

This is the structural fact that most price advice about sports games gets wrong. EA's football and 2K's basketball ship every autumn, so last year's edition has a hard expiry date and a predictable collapse — we went through exactly that pattern in our look at EA FC 27's pricing.

Golf does not work that way. The series went PGA TOUR 2K21 in 2020, 2K23 in 2022, and 2K25 in 2025 — every two to three years, not every twelve months. No successor has been announced. There is no 2K26 on a storefront waiting to make this edition redundant, which removes the one force that reliably craters a sports title's price.

The practical consequence: do not model this game on FIFA or NBA 2K. The discount you are waiting for is a seasonal sale event, not a generational handover, and seasonal events move prices by a third, not by nine-tenths.

The older entries are where the actual bargains are

If the number on 2K25 is the problem, the series' back catalogue is the answer, and our record is blunt about how far it falls. Reading all-time tracked lows on 25 October 2026:

The 2K21 figure is the interesting one. A game that still has courses, a career mode and a working swing has been tracked at under a dollar and a half. It is three editions old and it shows, but for anyone who simply wants to play golf on a PC rather than own the current licence, it is the cheapest route by an enormous margin.

2K23 is the sharper comparison. Its floor and 2K25's floor are within three cents of each other, which means the newer game is only worth its premium if you specifically want the rebuilt swing system and the three majors. If you do not, the older game is the same money at its best.

Where the cheap listings actually come from

Worth knowing before you chase a number: across the eighteen offers on the game's page, the cheapest end is consistently keyshop stock rather than an official storefront. The stores that have held the cheapest slot in our record are YUPLAY, Eneba, Driffle, Keycense and Loaded — resellers, not publishers.

That is not automatically a problem, but it changes what you are buying and what recourse you have. We went through the mechanics of that market, including region locks and what a refund is actually worth, in our guide to whether keyshops are safe. The short version for this game: the official price is the ceiling, the keyshop price is the floor, and the gap has been about a quarter for most of our record.

When to buy, going by the record rather than the hype

Two of the three cheap windows we have logged — late June and mid-September — sat either side of Steam's summer and autumn events, which is the pattern our Steam sales calendar describes for most catalogue titles. The late-August drop was the odd one out and lasted days.

So: if you are reading this during a major seasonal sale, check the page and buy. If you are not, you are looking at a price that has been pinned near its ceiling since mid-September, and the next scheduled opportunity is the winter event rather than anything this month. Waiting costs you nothing but the weeks; this game is not going to be removed from sale, and nothing suggests the floor is about to drop below the $9.20 we have already seen.

One caveat that applies to every number above: they are historical readings, not today's price. Prices on this game have moved by five dollars in a single day inside our record, so treat the live listing on the game page as the only figure that decides a purchase. If you want the reasoning behind that habit, our piece on what a historical low actually means is the long version.

The bottom line

Do not buy PGA TOUR 2K25 this week. The cheapest listing has been stuck within fifteen cents of itself since 16 September, which is the worst band our record has ever shown for it, and there is no imminent sequel to force a correction. Put it on a watchlist and buy during the winter sale, where our record says the cheap windows cluster.

And if you want golf rather than this specific edition, buy PGA TOUR 2K23 instead and stop thinking about it. Its floor matches 2K25's best-ever price, the swing is the only real difference, and you will have change left over. For the contrast, look at what a genuinely annual series does to its own back catalogue: NBA 2K25 has a tracked low of $3.52 as of 25 October 2026, a fraction of what the golf game has ever reached. That is the yearly cycle at work, and golf simply does not have one.
