Cyberpunk 2077 price after Edgerunners 2: not the floor
Playze Staff · Oct 23, 2026

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arrived on Netflix on 20 October, all ten episodes at once, and two days later CD PROJEKT RED shipped the free game update built around it. Predictably, Cyberpunk 2077 is back near the top of Steam's best-seller chart with a deep cut on the store page. Less predictably, our own record says the Cyberpunk 2077 price being waved at you this week is one of the worst of the year.
Read on 23 October 2026: Playze holds 107 daily readings of the cheapest live offer for the base game, going back to 18 June 2026. The lowest of them is $7.38, on 8 July 2026. On 77 of those 107 days — seven days in ten — the cheapest offer anywhere on the market was below where it stood when we took this week's reading. The live comparison, including the Ultimate Edition and the Phantom Liberty bundle, sits on our game pages.
What the Cyberpunk 2077 price has actually done since June
Flat and cheap, then a step change. The median day across the whole record is $8.72, and 67 of the 107 readings — 63% — came in at ten dollars or less. For most of the summer this was a sub-$10 game, consistently, without needing a storefront banner to make it so.
Month by month, the floor we logged: $8.34 in June, $7.38 in July, $8.25 in August, $8.72 in September. Then October breaks the pattern. The cheapest single reading we have taken this month is $16.41, roughly double the floor of every month that preceded it. Nothing in October has come within seven dollars of the July low.

Six years of patches, one expansion and two anime seasons later, the game sells on nostalgia as much as novelty — which is exactly when prices firm up. (Official Steam screenshot)
Why October is the expensive month
Because the cheap summer prices were never Steam's. On the 67 days where our record names the shop holding the cheapest offer, an official storefront held it three times: GOG twice, Steam once. The other 64 days belonged to key marketplaces — Gameseal on 29 of them, Driffle on 21, GAMIVO on nine, with Eneba, Loaded and CJS CD Keys taking the rest.
That is the whole mechanism. Through June, July and August the grey market was flooded with cheap base-game keys and the floor sat under nine dollars whatever Steam was doing. Since the start of October those listings have thinned and firmed, and the storefront cut now on offer is simply what is left standing. A deep percentage off a list price is not the same thing as a low price, and this game is the clearest example we track of the difference. If you are weighing a key marketplace against an official store, our piece on whether keyshops are safe covers what you are actually buying and what can go wrong with it.

What the Edgerunners 2 update actually changes
It is free, and it does not change the price of anything. CD PROJEKT RED's own announcement puts the Edgerunners 2 Update — numbered 2.5 — out on 22 October 2026 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version following. The studio describes it as new content and features inspired by the show, with the itemised list in the official patch notes rather than the announcement.
Which matters for a buying decision in one direction only: there is no paid component to wait for and no new edition to be confused by. If you already own the game, you have the update. If you do not, the update is not a reason to pay more than you would have paid in August — it is a reason the market is currently asking you to.

Which edition, and the Game Pass footnote
Three things are sold under this name and they are not interchangeable. The base game is the 2020 release plus six years of patches. The Phantom Liberty expansion is a separate purchase that needs the base game. The Ultimate Edition is both in one box, and it is the only one of the three worth comparing against a bundle price rather than a base-game price.
Our record for the Ultimate Edition runs 116 readings from 23 June 2026, and its floor sits at the same $7.38 as the base game — which tells you the edition rows share a cheapest-key supply and that an Ultimate listing is sometimes the better buy at the same money. Check both pages before you commit to either; that is the entire reason they are separate pages.
The studio's back catalogue behaves the same way, which is the clearest sign that this is market structure rather than a CD PROJEKT RED decision. Our 105-day record for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Complete Edition has a floor of $5.33, set at GAMIVO on 1 September 2026, against a median of $10.87 across the same window. Both games spend most of their lives well under their storefront headline, and both get there through the same handful of resellers.
The Game Pass question has a short answer today: no. Cyberpunk 2077 left the service's Cloud and Console tiers in September, as we covered in the September Game Pass departures, and our data has it off the service as of this week. Buying is the only route in.

The regional gap is unusually wide on this one
We price the base game across nine regions, and the spread between them is larger than the spread between most shops. Read on 23 October 2026, the official store price in our Georgia region sits 50% below the official US one for the identical product — a gap we rarely see outside Latin America and Eastern Europe, and wider than any discount on the table this week.
That is not advice to go shopping in another country's store. Payment-method and residency checks exist, accounts get locked, and the saving evaporates the moment a purchase is reversed. Our explainer on regional pricing sets out which differences are legitimately available to you and which are a good way to lose an account. The honest use of the number is as a sanity check: when the same product differs by half across borders, the number on your own store page is a policy decision, not a valuation.

The bottom line
Wait. Not forever, and not for a storefront event — for the key supply to come back. Our record shows four consecutive months in which the cheapest live offer sat between seven and nine dollars, and one month, the current one, in which it has not gone below sixteen. Nothing about the game changed in between; the listings did.
If you have waited six years you can wait for the next sub-$10 window, and our record says those have been the normal state of this game rather than the exception. The one case for buying this week is that you want to watch the show and play the update alongside it, which is a real reason and worth paying a premium for if it is yours. Just be clear that it is a premium. For what the word "lowest" actually guarantees, our piece on historical lows is the companion to this one — and if you want the current field in one place, the deals roundup is where we keep it.
