Etaine: Magic Survivor / 伊泰恩：魔法幸存者, developed and published by TEMagicGames, is a survival roguelite that builds on the increasingly popular formula of arena-based combat and incremental power growth, while adding its own layer of mechanical involvement through more active spell usage and resource management. The game places players in control of a magic user thrown into hostile environments filled with relentless waves of enemies, where survival depends on both quick decision-making and long-term build planning. Gameplay is nice with some evolutions being a little underwhelming, but there's a lot of them so I probably just need to learn better synergies. This game changes up some of the bullet heaven mix (like mana gems instead of xp gems) and less of a focus on automatic aiming (option does exist). Content is more towards the SFW end for what a lot of you might like, but I think it's cute. Dev has some law limitations, just see the Discussion posts for some clarification (A post or two exist with a dev direct response.). It'd be nice to see more content from this developer in the future. Dev paid for the artwork to be done, so if you like what you see, buying the game might help them pay for more ;D

It's so close to being a phenomenal game, but lacks QOL features in a ton of different ways. Playing on a controller is a poor experience that I can't recommend. Playing on m+kb isn't my preference for the genre, but it's made this game a lot easier to do what I want it to. The interactions between talents, artifacts, and spells is interesting, and the mana pool economy is something fairly unique compared to other survivor-likes. There's a great deal of progression mechanics, and the game starts off easy enough that I've been getting 10+ post game rewards after every run so far. I'm tentatively recommending, though like the other reviews mention, this game would very clearly benefit from extra time smoothing out the rough edges. It's perfectly good at $3.50 right now.

Vampire Survivors is only $1.27USD more expensive than this.

Nothing bad to say about the game. Great price for a competent Survivors-like. The spells requiring mana usage is the big twist with this game, and it works very well. It made the game more enjoyable for me. I also really appreciate that rather than spell choices popping up on your screen every time you level up, your character instead levels up and you can choose whenever you're ready to buy whatever items/spells.

Pretty cool vampire survivor like. Good enough art and there are a lot of builds. A reallly good game considering how cheap it is. I personally prefer it over the OG game, but it's persdonal ofc
