Deadly Sin

I have a lot of mixed thoughts on Deadly Sin. ON the 1 hand, it is rather impressive what was done with it back in 2009. On the other hand, even at the time I wasn't that crazy about it as it was doing what older console games were doing for years at that point. So even by today's standards, it isn't that impressive. Stop me if you heard this plot before: girl loses parents. Girl lives in the forest with her adoptive uncle. Girl gets letter from said uncle to brave the dangers to see an old friend. Girl learns her heritage isn't what it seems. Sounds super familiar, right? And that is how I would describe Deadly Sin in general: familiar. The combat is generic as well. Character's take turns attacking until someone wins. Each turn, a character generates some sort of energy / MP to use spells and skills. Characters gain money, experience, and skill points after battle. Skill points are used to learn new spells / skills. Learning skills is what ultimately allows characters to learn more powerful ones. And it isn't the character's levels that dictate what they can learn: It's the ultimately the number of skills / spells learned. In general, it's a fine combat system. The problem …

I do like the game however the only thing about it is if you try to open a door and random encounter happens it glitches OTHER THAN THAT A VERY GREAT GAMe

Good Game but too monotonous, enemy spawn too often, sometime it takes 1-2 minutes battle until we beat the standard enemy, with the same skill and the same way, makes me bored and sleepy when you have to grinding your level up, even though you may deactivate crystal to prevent enemy spawned but the way you reach crystal also have to face so many enemy with the same an monotonous way.. anyway the story is good.

It is a nice way to let your mind think of other things, like saving people's lives

Found a rather extreme bug in the game. As I was walking through a doorway, a random encounter occurred. This made the UI implode upon itself. My character became invisible (it reappeared after my next encounter). It also allowed me to cross all planes of the game as if walls didn't exist in the first place (this was NOT fixed after my following encounter). I can still interact with objects as normal, but I'm no longer prevented from entering areas that are supposed to be inaccessible without following the storyline; I no longer need bridges to cross water/chasms/lava and I'm no longer blocked by walls. Saving the game in an attempt to reload so that it fixes the issues saved the bug with it (I haven't tried loading any other save-points). I would show a screenshot, but Steam is broken and doesn't allow for screenshots (from ME) to be taken despite Steam settings explicitly telling it to allow me to do so. Furthermore, Steam decided that letting me take a screenshot without using the steam tools to do so isn't good enough, so I can't even upload my screenshot of proof of this bug to steam to use as a community bug warning.

I can't say I'd recommend, unless you're a big fan of the developers other games, and feel the urge to complete the series. Having completed, there are a number of frustrating aspects of this game including: long obscure mazes to wander, often there is no real direction as to where you should be going, or what you should be doing, an entire optional area that is extremely difficult, and finding it is extremely obscure, and seems to require a guide. I missed finding some of the most powerful end-game armor because I just couldn't traverse the mazes well enough to find all the pieces. In the end the final boss was very easily cheesed anyway, so it turns out that wasn't too big of a loss.
