Elemental Witches

When you mix Dome Keeper styled pixel aesthetic enemies with stage based slaughterfests and then layer a thick brand of incremental upgrades on top of it, this is the resulting game. First thing I noticed was the main menu has some interactable elements for upgrading and switching - I thought that was cool. The music is pretty chill too. When I started playing the tutorial was kind of all over the place and a bit confusing but I figured things out mostly on my own. When the main gameplay hits it's pretty enjoyable. You have stages where you fight enemies, interact with merchants, and gather gold. Then there's the numbered boss stages where you have waves of enemies and a boss thrown in. It's worth mentioning that these are called Rewind Checkpoints - if you beat a boss, you get an option on the main menu to rewind time and start right after you beat them. A cool concept in execution. Avoiding enemies is pretty simple but if you let them touch you, you will definitely know it. At stage 15, I had a boss almost take me down in a couple of hits, and they hit fast. I also have to compliment the enemy design again - they really look like Risk of Rain or Dome Keeper enemies. Elemental Witches takes the familiar structure of a survivor-style action roguelite and gives it a more hands-on identity through elemental spell combinations, character switching, familiars, and build customization. Developed by Paidakang and published by The Bueno Lab, the game centers on three witches associated with Fire, Wind, and Thunder. Rather than relying entirely on automatic attacks and straightforward upgrades, it encourages players to experiment with elemental combinations and adapt their strategy as increasingly dangerous groups of enemies enter the battlefield. The elemental orb system is the foundation of the experience. Fire, Wind, and Thunder can be combined to produce different abilities, giving each run a meaningful sense of progression. There are 21 elemental skills to work with, and the way resources are distributed between the elements can significantly influence a build. Concentrating heavily on one element can create a specialized character capable of producing powerful attacks, while spreading upgrades across multiple elements provides greater flexibility.
