I purchased because I saw the devs youtube videos and am a huge fan of the armored core series. Theres a lot of good things here but it needs some work. I don't like to be harsh (I do very small game dev projects so I understand how difficult a full game is to make) but it feels a bit under-cooked for a full release. The one positive I will say is the movement and weapons feel very armored core, which is awesome. I find the UI extremely difficult to parse. Vampire survivors or other rogue like games have very simple and clear modifiers and abilities that make it easy to make quick choices. This ended up being why I didn't continue past the first mission and first arena mission. The areas were too large and empty. I found I spent more time flying around at full speed than in combat. This feels like something that can just be tuned with the procedural generation though so I'm sure it will be better sooner than later. For the first Arena mission, I should have lost since I was super under-powered and still didnt have a great grasp of the controls but the AI just didn't do anything so I managed to very slowly take it out. An excellent tech demo that needs more content - you can complete the arena, all raid maps, and explore in ~3h. Thoughts: - Feels awesome to play, like ac4a. - Some ways I'd want to continue engaging with the gameplay loop: - More raid maps - Story/structured mission mode - Multiplayer/duel mode - A hard and very hard mode for raids - Infinite scaling on raids to incentivize play beyond the extraction point - No range cap on missiles or missile targeting feels very OP
