About Transcripted

Transcripted is a mixture of two incredibly addictive and vastly popular casual gaming styles: the dual-stick shooter and the match three puzzle game. In Transcripted players take control of the Nano Probe, a microscopic apparatus used to combat disease. With the aid of a skill tree that improves ship equipment, health, shields and the Nano Probe’s arsenal of upgradeable weapons, players must successfully navigate through hordes of deadly pathogens to destroy the disease’s pseudo-DNA as it twines perilously on its endless path to infection. Along the way players must defeat gigantic boss colonies the pathogen has evolved with the sole purpose of stopping the Nano Probe from completing its mission. Difficulty levels of both puzzle and shooting segments can be adjusted independently to suit every play style, making Transcripted an amazingly replayable experience.

Key Features:

  • Twin stick shooter meets “match three” puzzles for addictive, tactical and fast-paced action
  • Many weapon and ship upgrades allow players almost limitless customization options for their Nano Probe
  • Beautifully rendered microscopic environments with animated backgrounds showing various areas of the body as the infection spreads
  • Difficulty levels of both puzzle and shooting aspects of the game can be adjusted independently
  • 25 core campaign missions, and 5 Challenge levels for scoring competition
  • Players are rewarded for skill shots and huge combos with experience points that can then be used to purchase weapon and ship upgrades
  • Memorable, ambient score

Very good design and graphics. Works on GNU/Linux.

Cure deadly viruses using nanomachines. Something like that anyway, the dialogue goes on a bit. Zuma meets Geometry Wars gameplay has you splitting your attention between scoring points and staying alive. Starts off simple then escalates with a steady flow of new hazards and enemy types. Firing and hit detection sounds are lacking but otherwise it's a hidden gem.

Transcripted is not a bad game in my opinion. Zuma on steroids with space-like atmosphere. It's also mixed with a top down shooter genre. So a little bit of retro feeling, overall quite fun. It's smooth, feels very polished, easy to learn. Fans of old-school match-3 will probably this. Or just fans of 'retroesque' arcades in general. I had fun for three hours, enjoyed playing this. But It isn't quite my style so I'll leave it at that. Personally I prefer the classic Zuma gameplay. This game is a bit more complex, which is fine. But simply not my style, It's really fun, though. And I do think that it deserves positive review. Grab it at a discount, if you are into the genre. I'd recommend to look up some gameplay vid.

It's not a bad idea but the weak graphics do not make the game that compelling. Plus, why is there such an elaborate and tedious story full of mumbo-jumbo, that totally dominates proceedings, when I just wanna shoot things!?

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Easy to look at and I loved the gameplay.

Awesome music, simple but addictive game play. Found myself losing hours playing this fantastic game.
