Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is an isometric action RPG where you play as the Devourer, a demon who consumes souls of the dead to control them as puppets in your fight against a corrupted order that threatens the world. Your choices shape the story across two interconnected worlds, and you can absorb up to 15 different character souls to switch between unique combat styles and abilities.
Story
After four of the five members of a secret order known as Penta Nera were murdered, their souls were swallowed by a pack of Devourers. Since then, they move around the mortal realm as the puppets of the Devourers, as a demonic Penta Nera, and ravage the land in search of the essence of souls.
The fifth member of the order, bent on revenge, makes use of the only way to stop them and summons another Devourer: this one is different from his siblings. He can absorb multiple souls, but sometimes becomes more human or schizophrenic, the more souls he absorbs. He can stop the demonic Penta Nera and save the world, or he can plunge it into complete disaster...

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms has an innovative dual-world mechanic and multi-character system that players find genuinely fresh for the action RPG genre, but the game suffers from significant technical problems including crashes on startup, unfinished content, bugs, and incomplete features that make it feel like an unpolished early version. Players also criticize the aiming controls as problematic, and many feel the game is overpriced relative to its state and the separately-sold full version.
This pathetic semblance of a game cannot even be called a finished game. This is pure and simple the early unfinished version of Shadows: Awakening. You can't pass achievements and some tasks, not everything is given to you by the dlc and full of bugs and unfinished things. And they have the audacity to sell it at this price and they sell it anyway. Given that they sell the whole game separately from this one at the same price. Shame on you creators and also Steam for allowing these things.2 found this helpful
