Rating: 8.2/10 Gold Rush! Classic is a point-and-click adventure game that follows the journey of Jerrod Wilson during the California Gold Rush of the mid-1800s. Players travel across the United States, solve environmental puzzles, manage supplies, interact with a variety of characters, and make important decisions while searching for fortune in the West. The game combines exploration, inventory-based puzzles, and historical themes to deliver a classic adventure experience inspired by the golden age of Sierra titles. The game's charming retro presentation, engaging historical setting, and rewarding puzzle design make it a memorable experience for fans of classic adventure games. Exploring different travel routes and uncovering the many possible outcomes adds replay value, while the authentic atmosphere captures the spirit of the Gold Rush era. Although some puzzles can be unforgiving by modern standards and the interface feels dated, Gold Rush! Classic remains a great choice for players who enjoy old-school point-and-click adventures, historical storytelling, and challenging puzzle-solving.
Classic alright
I dug for gold for three days and now my cat demands a golden bowl and a vacation to Alaska
Originally made by Sierra, Gold Rush! is a classic adventure game, set during the Gold Rush of 1849. As Jerrod Wilson, the player leaves Brooklyn to go West, choosing one of three ways to reach Fort Sutter, in California. Along the way, Jerrod Wilson faces many dangers, some of which are random. Upon arrival, Jerrod seeks his long lost brother and also begins his search for gold. In addition to being educational, each playthrough is a unique and thrilling experience. Gold Rush has been a personal favorite for many years.
