✦ AI summary

Fuse parallel characters and tear through dark sci-fi worlds with lightning-fast combat, dynamic synergies, and procedurally-generated levels that feel fresh every run. This rogue-lite features three distinct universes to explore, fighting-game-inspired action, and a persistent narrative by award-winning author Ada Hoffmann that unfolds across your journey through the multiverse.

If you love tight combat, smart builds, and runs that feel wildly different every time — you’re home.Fuse parallel characters, unlock new synergies, and tear through dark sci-fi worlds with speed, style, and precision.

A rogue-lite journey through the multiverse

The various branches of the multiverse are always changing. Fight through a combination of procedurally-generated levels as well as hand-crafted challenges and arenas that will put your skills to the test. Levels with 3D graphics are seamlessly constructed out of hundreds of custom-made rooms.

High-intensity combat

With weapons and attack systems that leverage our previous experience working on fighting games. You’ll slide, dash and dodge between enemy attacks and strike back with an arsenal of satisfying special weapons and abilities.

Three characters, three universes to explore

Each of your parallel selves has their own world with multiple biomes to explore, as well as their own sets of unique abilities and weapons. Travel through a universe of desolate wastes and caverns roamed by mutant creatures, escape the endless forges and labs of a world ruled by machines, and survive the dangerous sky cities of a post-human society.

Constant Progression

Unlock permanent upgrades in the Hub and discover new starting points for your run as you reclaim major locations in each universe. Finding yourself getting stuck in one area? Start your next run in a different one! No matter where you die, or which starting point you pick, you're making progress somewhere.

A Story That Persists Across Runs

The game’s characters and lore are crafted in collaboration with award-winning poet and sci-fi novelist Ada Hoffmann, author of The Outside, The Fallen, and The Infinite. As the story unfolds, new starting points are unlocked across the multiverse, allowing each run to begin deeper into the journey. Even when a run doesn’t advance the narrative, players earn resources that can be invested in permanent upgrades back at the Citadel — steadily strengthening their characters, expanding their options, and ensuring meaningful progress toward the story’s conclusion.

cool concept but not rewarding enough for the difficulty even on easy. too easy to die too hard to heal. 3.5/10
Very Cool Concept, Some Very Questionable Decisions
It has some stuff going for it, but it unfortunately also has a bit more going against it. In other words: changing this review from a NEGATIVE to a POSITIVE. Anyhoo... I read a lot. I mostly read sci-fi. Alastair Reynolds, Greg Egan, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Asimov, Clement; you get the gist. The story here feels like it's a split between Terminal World and House of Suns. And this is a good thing. The environments feel like they'd belong in those worlds. The multiverse twist is very Greg Egan/James Hogan, while the enemies are very Tchaikovsky/Orson Card. It's nailed the space opera-ish, big picture, sci-fi vibe. In spades. I thought the voice acting was decent enough, and the characters have quirky personalities to them (more than everyone did in Revelation Space, at least). So, what's the problem then? The GAMEPLAY. That's the AT-AT Walker in the room. It's not exactly clunky, but it's not exactly as precise as you'd want this kind of game to be. You have some platforming, you have your combat, and they do do something interesting with these things.. but it ends up somewhere between "alm…

The first time i've played this game was the demo like 3 years ago and it got me hocked! Now i'm finally playing it and honestly i'm enjoying it a little too much! Totally recommend it and for you to give it a try.

I had a lot of fun with this game, the start of any run can become a bit slow since you can easily die if you get surrounded but it was a a nice challenge because it becomes so much manageable as you progress, having to keep changing weapons to keep up as the older ones deal less damage to later enemies is neat to keep each run a bit fresh If there is a nitpick would be that the map option disappears on the In-Betweem sections and while i get adding a map there is kind of useless i wish the option to see the map that shows stages would still be available, as when playing i often forget on which of the three sections i could end up, especially the first time But i really recommend this to anyone who wants to try it

Randomizing and clearing my backlog 56/343 The thing with games like this (inspired by Dead Cells) is if you dont add something to stand out and innovate on a superior game, you've left your players to just want to go back and replay the inspiration i.e. Dead Cells. This isnt a bad game, its just ok. It adds little to nothing that makes me want to continue. I would rather just go play the superior inspiration.
