Elementary My Dear Majesty! is an attempt to rethink the hidden object genre by shifting it into a fully 3D space, combining traditional item-search mechanics with light adventure elements and a whimsical fantasy narrative. Developed by Alawar Dreamdale and published by Alawar Casual, it takes a formula that is usually static and familiar, then adds spatial exploration and environmental interaction in an effort to make it feel more dynamic. The result is a game that feels both inventive and occasionally awkward, depending on how well its ideas align with execution. The story follows a simple but engaging premise: the king’s daughter has been transformed into a monstrous being, and it falls to the player to uncover a solution before things spiral out of control. Rather than presenting the narrative through heavy exposition, the game integrates it into the progression itself. - Playtime: 23 minutes - Played: 2026 - Context: I like quite a few Hidden Object Games. Review This is a game from 2015 that looks like something from at least a decade earlier. Gameplay consists of finding objects and sometimes using them on other objects. There's also moving things with a crane and shooting with a catapult/cannon - both of which use the same controls. And some basic puzzles. The difficulty mainly comes from the rather poor graphics and fiddly controls. And also some moon logic. The first level/map has you collect supplies for a journey in a sack. So i clicked on the sack. It didn't work. I clicked on the water melon. It didn't work. It turns out you first collect the apples to eat, then the sack to put them in. And the watermelons are used to make fuel. Of course. Some of the dialogue is amusing but it's not enough to overcome the gameplay.
