Botology, developed and published by Black Lime Studio, is a low-budget third-person shooter that attempts to build a futuristic narrative around robotics experimentation and corporate testing, but ultimately feels more like an early prototype than a fully realized game. The premise centers on the player navigating controlled environments filled with hostile machines, framed as part of experimental trials involving advanced robotic systems. While the idea has potential—especially within the realm of sci-fi action—the execution rarely rises to meet even modest expectations. From a gameplay standpoint, Botology is built on a very basic foundation. Players move through linear stages, engage enemies, and progress by clearing areas in a largely repetitive loop. Shooting mechanics are functional in the most minimal sense, but they lack the responsiveness and feedback that make combat satisfying. Aiming can feel imprecise, movement is stiff, and encounters often devolve into simple exchanges where success depends more on persistence than skill. There’s little sense of evolution in how the game plays; new situations rarely introduce new mechanics or challenges, making each level feel like…

Not very good, but not without merit. This review will contain a walkthrough! First, don't hit Q ever, that opens the menu and you might accidentally click something. Next, you need to do a fair lot of crafting. The main goal of the game is to put coloured plasma keys into coloured plasma doors, which isn't a horrid idea by any means. But, you can and do simply buy them from the store and you usually have enough money... so just immediately craft 5~10 of each key and complete the first two levels. Then you should have enough money to craft like 100 of every key, which will last a long long long time. Also, you press Tab to pull out your gun... you will accidentally shift+tab in this game quite often. Starting from level 2 or 3 you can upgrade plasmas to make them heal for more, but this is pointless since it's always easier to use 2 in quick succession than to use 3 to craft the strongest version. For healing, use only white plasma as it's the strongest since it heals health, energy and ammo at the same time. Level 3 is rather maze like and can take a while. Level 4 is more forgiving as it gives updating respawn points, but it's also the longest mission by far. Level …
