About Zombie Playground™

✦ AI summary

Zombie Playground is a cooperative third-person shooter-action RPG where you fight waves of undead monsters in a school arena, choosing between tanky Bullies and nimble Rascals armed with melee and ranged weapons. Relive the childhood thrill of imagining yourself as a movie hero with class-specific abilities, boss battles, and up to four-player co-op gameplay across ten missions.

Zombie Playground is Goonies meets Stranger Things meets The Walking Dead. The mood we want to capture in Zombie Playground is the feeling that you had as a kid when you were completely immersed in your imagination fighting monsters and doing things you thought were cool from your favorite movies, comics, and video games.

We've worked long and hard to create a game that delivers on the promise of our original vision. Zombie Playground™ is made with the brains, disease, and puke of all involved - that means heart!

Gameplay in Zombie Playground is a hybrid of third person shooter and action RPG mechanics set in a cooperative zombie survival horror arena. This translates simply to "A fun romp solo or with friends."

Key Features - What Me Worry??

Arena Style Map: Classroom Building Arena Map comprised of a Courtyard, a Main Entrance, and areas for Language Arts, Biology, Computer Science, and Music.
Multiple Enemy Types + BOSS FIGHT! Normal, +Elite, and even a Big Bad Boss! From crouched zombies, to vicious adult zombies, to the dreaded mopper of the halls... Buckethead, the Janitor! Can you topple this giant flesh bag and live to tell the tale? (If not, try with some friends!)
2 Playable Classes: 'Bully' is your damage dealing, tanky type class, where 'Rascal' is akin to an agility, or glass cannon, class. Both have their own stats and abilities: Bully-Bomb, Bully-Buff, Rascal-Can't Touch This, and Rascal-Speed Demon.
2 Playable Weapon Styles: Each class has both full melee and ranged combat capabilities, complete with combos and finishers. Why sacrifice one for the other when you can have both!?
17 Unique Weapon Choices (currently) to choose from: a variety of melee and ranged weapons. (And more in the pipeline!)
10 Missions: Do you have what it takes to discover the source of the contagion?
Tons of Gear!: We have over 200 different aesthetic assets in the game at present, Trading Cards, Halloween and Holiday goodies, and much more!
Beta testing of up to 4 Player CO-OP Networking is a go! But sometimes, this function is more than 'one click' away. Should you encounter any issues, please check our forums on our main site.
Original Soundtrack by the Amazing Shawn Lee made specifically for Zombie Playground. Hot!! We were lucky enough to collaborate with Shawn in order to bring some sweet funky beats, crossed with an 80's style retro feel, to Zombie Playground. Some of Shawn's other credits include Bully, Tales from the Borderlands, and Sleeping Dogs.
Keyboard (or Controller) Breakdown: Be sure to check out the keyboard commands refresher, it will help you understand how to play the game better, complete with detailed descriptions of combos, finishers, and abilities. You can find it on our home page forums.

🚌 Well, I'll never forgive this game for its wasted concept. Just look at the promo art, it's stunning, but the game is abandoned shovelware. The main problem is the clunky implementation of everything, as well as the NEED for an online connection for solo play and even customization. Hit detection is terrible, there is no impact from hits or even taken damage. Animations are constantly glitching. The balance is broken, it's easy, but you can be cornered and lose in the blink of an eye. Only two classes (with useless abilities) and six similar missions in small school arenas (~2h). Enemies seem different, but they behave the same. The final boss is a sponge with broken hitboxes. Multiplayer is in perpetual beta. The shop interface is buggy. The selection of outfit elements is poor (as well as colors) and making individual items shades as paid DLCs is ridiculous. Cheap but disappointing, and I played it longer than it deserved.

The video game version of what my friends and I used to do at the playground back in Elementary school. The concept and character set-up is great, but the game play was ick. The animations are choppy and feels off, the boss is bugged, and the player's view is off in certain areas of the map. You only have 2 characters, and each has only 2 types of weapons to choose from. The missions themselves are vague, with no real guidance or direction on how to complete them. So much potential was there, but the developers gave up on this game. Their last update was in 2017. If stealth.gg ever does plan on updating this game, they really need to fix the bugs and glitches. This is unacceptable for a game that relied on the public's support, during launch. Do not waste your money on Zombie Playground™.

I actually enjoyed this game more than I expected. Slaying zombies is fun, and while I did get stuck on parts of the story at first, I eventually figured it out. The biggest issue is the lack of content. I played for about 3 hours and was able to finish most of the story pretty quickly. Still, I had a good time with it. I’d recommend giving it a try, especially if you like zombie games. I just wish more people were still playing because the story would be even more fun with others.

I so wanted this to be good. But it is not. It is bad.
