The Empire Staggers Back
In the wake of political developments during the summer of 2016 and the events that followed, Britain found itself increasingly isolated from global society. Frustrated by the demise of this once great nation Her Majesty the Queen concluded that the elected representatives at Westminster were no longer fit to govern her United Kingdom.
Having dissolved parliament, returning the United Kingdom to an autocratic government, improvements were immediate and wide ranging. However, ever the pragmatist, Her Majesty concluded that, given the complications Britain was facing returning to a position of power on earth, perhaps it was time to focus her attention elsewhere...
Establishing S.P.I.F.F.I.N.G. (Special Planetary Investigative Force For Inhabiting New Galaxies) Her Majesty has turned to the stars in a bid to establish a new, Galactic British Empire!
Assuming command of the near futuristic space ship HMSS Imperialise and her crew (distinguished veteran and gentleman Captain Frank Lee English and Aled, his mild-mannered South Walean colleague) YOU will venture into the cosmos, solving puzzles, engaging in witty banter, deal with crippling claustrophobia, gradually succumb to the sustained exposure of cosmic radiation and so on, all for Queen and Country.
Heck, along the way, you may stumble into a few other folks venturing about the cosmos with their own intergalactic aspirations…

Total play time 1.9 hours.. and that includes the time I sat with the game open and ate a bowl of soup.. VERY short game! I checked YouTube and there's a 100% achievement completion guide finished in 45mins (if the conversations were skippable then probably done in half the time).. granted the game is cheap.. but still.. there are so many games on Steam for the same price you could get many more hours of fun out of.. Story wise.. seriously lacking.. your guys are sent into space.. spilt a drink on the controls.. grab a controller to replace the damaged controls.. land on a planet.. speak to some people.. hand them something.. game over.. that's literally it! Don't expect any gripping gameplay or plot twists.. how this game got positive reviews I really don't know..4 found this helpful
The game is very odd. It's a basic point and click adventure, with I think like 15 objects that can be interacted with. The jokes aren't funny, but the laugh track has to play after every single one. I think if it was put together a little bit differently, it could be a good subversion to the genre, but this just isn't that great.2 found this helpful
A short, charming little point-and-click adventure game. Timeless 3D comic graphics, simple puzzles, and readable and transparent locations. At times, it features subtle British humour, full of cultural references, clichés, and national sereotypes. You’ll have a few laughs, and if you’ve seen famous Hollywood movies, you’ll catch plenty of pop culture references. If you don’t find the fact that the French eat frogs funny, this isn’t the game for you. But the rest of us will have a great time. It’s a short, laid-back game for a relaxing evening. It makes sense to buy it on sale for 1,5 or 2 euros, where it regularly pops up. And for that price, it’s a solid little dose of fun.
Brilliant animation, voice acting and humour made this a fun experience. It's very short, but I didn't pay much for it and a short game makes a nice change. Highly recommended.
