About STARDROP
STARDROP is a single-player first-person interactive narrative adventure game where you take on the role of a Salvage & Rescue Operative named Aryn Vance. With her partner, John Kindley, at her side, the two embark on a journey full of mystery and suspense with some laughs along the way. STARDROP tells a genuine heart-felt story about a long lost starship, its crew and one individual in particular.
STARDROP presents its narrative through traditional cut scenes and in-game cinematic story telling as you play. The main campaign is where the heart of the game's narrative lies but you will also be able to experience the universe of STARDROP through its side missions.
Exploration lies at the game's core but so does accessibility. While the game offers puzzles and asks the player to figure out what to do or where to go next, the flow of information within the game will always guide you. Objectives are always made clear and designed with logic in mind. However, those who venture off the beaten path will find that there are more than enough secrets to be discovered.
Throughout the game the player will be able to interact with various types of interfaces such as control panels, elevators and security systems as well as other various interactive objects such as computer interfaces where you can read emails, listen to audio logs and more.
Your All-Purpose-Design (APD) space suit is equipped with a set of tools that you will need in order to succeed. The suit comes with a built-in flashlight. The object scanner enables you to identify objects of interest that you can interact with and it's also capable of zero gravity mobility under certain circumstances.
The DataPad is an essential tool. It enables you to view your current objective, read audio and text logs that you've collected and it also comes with a built-in mini-map.
Our main focus will always be on the game's story but we strife to deliver breathtaking visuals where possible. Our efforts have lead us to win Best 3D Graphics in the Intel Level Up Contest of 2017. We will continue to uphold these standards if not lifting them up even higher.

- Four full fledged chapters that concludes the main game's narrative.
- An engaging story enthralled by a captivating mystery.
- Explore multiple spacecraft, Outposts, Stations and more as a salvage & rescue operative.
- A small but diverse cast of characters brought to life by incredible voice talents.
- A range of light environmental puzzles and a touch of stealth.
- Exploration mixed with narrative driven gameplay.
- SRO side missions

Stardrop is a casual sci-fi game about the exploration of a ship lost long ago. It's primarily a narrative-driven walking sim with some light puzzle and stealth elements, although the stealth sections are very basic. The story is the main focus of the game. For a one dev project (with help I assume), it's pretty good. It's divided in four chapter and has very good voice-overs for the main characters. The graphics, while maybe a bit overly clean, are still very polished and the environments are believable within the setting you're in. The story is nothing new in sci-fi, but it was well thought out and cohesive, with enough going on to keep me interested from start to finish. I also liked the references to some old games and hardware. Jeez, I'm getting old. It's not all perfect though. The controls can be a bit janky, making it hard to pick up certain objects. And I got myself soft-locked once. Not sure how or why that happened, but it was easy to resolve by loading a previous save and redoing a small part of that section. Clearly a product made with love, and I enjoyed it a lot.1 found this helpful
Some jankiness (softlocks, unwanted cursors appearing on screen, awkward positioning of the character in order to activate terminals, repeated conversations, etc), but otherwise this is one of the better space-set narrative games you'll play. The shiny graphics weren't exactly to my taste, but I admire the game not just for its excellent story (it has great dialogue, and one of the most gentle yet heart-reaching endings I've seen), but also for how the developer has gone beyond the standard walking-sim template. There are good puzzles, whether they be finding keycodes or the effective android override setpieces, and there's also some basic stealth. It's not wonderful stealth, but it gets the job done. The zero-G movement, using the mouse buttons to lower or raise your elevation, was OK too. I went into Stardrop expecting just another Tacoma or something like that, a walking simulator with a celestial setting and story, but actually it's something different entirely. I'm not saying it's BETTER than Tacoma, a game which I love and does its premise magnificently well with great polish, but it's a unique kind of experience, finding a certain balance between the puzzle-dialogue-plot mix…1 found this helpful
Stardrop is a wonderful sci-fi walking sim. It's super indie, and you can tell that the ambition went slightly beyond what the budget could spring for, but it's still a pretty solid adventure. You play a salvage operator who finds an abandoned dropship where the gameplay mechanics are dutifully explained, then that leads you onto a bigger ship where you do the same thing - walk slowly around a vast space hulk, reading emails and collecting pads to find codes, unlocking doors, rebooting power cores, you know the drill. There are some stealth sections, but they're forgiving - the only thing that happens if you get spotted is the alarm keeps blaring until you cancel it, no need to die and repeat. There is one section toward the end where it's not very clear where the consoles are that need to be activated, but overall the progression is well-signposted. The story is comfortably familiar if you are a sci-fi fan. It's a mystery with a couple of mild twists, nothing shocking, but that's not really why these kinds of game exist. Everything gets resolved neatly, there's no lurking terror gimmick, it's just our heroes doing their jobs, salvaging a ship, making some wisecracks, the end. Th…1 found this helpful
STARDROP is a story-driven first-person science fiction adventure developed and published by indie creator Joure Visser. Released on Steam in 2019 after a period in Early Access, the game represents a passion project that spent several years in development and was largely crafted by a single developer. Rather than focusing on traditional action mechanics, the game places its emphasis on narrative, atmosphere, and exploration, inviting players into a slow-burn space mystery that gradually unfolds through environmental storytelling and character interaction. The story centers on Aryn Vance, a salvage and rescue operative who travels through deep space investigating abandoned vessels and responding to distress signals. Alongside her partner John Kindley, Aryn embarks on what initially appears to be a routine mission involving a mysterious spacecraft located in a distant constellation. As the two begin to explore the ship and piece together fragments of its history, the situation slowly develops into a larger mystery concerning the fate of the vessel, its crew, and a deeper narrative about the people who once lived and worked aboard it. The game’s plot unfolds gradually through cinema…
The game is interesting to play. The story is nice and i love Aryn's voice. The models like of polishing but as i understood the devs couldn't find a good graphist and had to buy models online.
